All of my cables are Pomona Brand. Quite a few of them, including the long white cables, I have had since I bought the synth (the early 70s). They are pricey but will last for decades.
Any way of doing this in software? In a way that: A) doesn't create an aliased mess, B) doesn't send the average computer to it's knees in terms of computation. Some of this reminds me of FM, but has it's own characteristic. I'll probably just have to to get someone with a modular to record some sweeps and then convert it to wavetables in Serum. There's not much like this in the software world that doesn't have the problems outlined earlier :(

+Adam Smith Check the Aalto VST. It's based on Buchla waveshaping but its very similar. if you have ableton Live check the waveshaping capabilities of the Saturator
You can do wavefolding using FM / phase modulation. Use 2 operators, set the carrier to sine, 0 Hz. Try an LFO on the modulator operator to vary its amplitude. When the phase of the carrier is at 0 degrees, the wavefolding has only odd harmonics. When its phase is 60 degrees, you get all harmonics. This sounds like many analog wavefolder, a full saw like sound. At 90 degrees on the carrier, you get only even harmonics. All odds are suppressed, including the fundamental, so it sounds an octave up. For a different flavor, try a 0 Hz triangle as the carrier.
