Yeah, this game had a very distinctive musical style. I saw it referred to as "Club Med" music, though I'm not sure what that meant. But either way, it's a mixture of relaxed and upbeat. I also especially _loved_ the Options screen song!

Every time I hear Human by the Human League I think of Waverace. It wasn't always that way though. I was walking through the grocery store and the song was playing and I kept thinking to myself, they can't be playing Waverace's soundtrack!? ever since then when I hear that song, I think of Waverace

That's right, Nintendo is doing that very well, and only they can make it work and generate buzz even though two decades have passed since the N64 era.

I wish people had this attitude when NES/SNES games are highlighted.

@@firestonehaku TBF, those always just felt like "here are some clips of the new batch." This actually feels like it's being sold: a good selection of tracks and game modes, music unifying the whole thing, the little custom title screen for the release date. It has more effort put into it.

Wave race was a massive title back in the days of n64. It was showing off n64 water mechanic's that could even do waves. The sun reflected off the surface and had God Ray's, almost a first. This was no little title. I remember this being a huge huge release at the time.

Nintendo 64 games were good back in the day and they are even more better today now that Nintendo brings them back 2 decades later Nintendo is unique in their own way it's good that they are bringing back old games to the switch

I remember thinking that the water was photo realistic, especially on Drake Lake after the fog lifts.

Nintendo EPD are too busy making only half-decent open world Zelda games, ports of Wii U games with unnecessary addons, "we'll finish making it after publishing" Animal Crossing games, actually creative games that get abandoned after a year with the IPs never touched again (Splatoon and Pikmin being the exceptions) and heavily monetized mobile games no one asked for to make Wave Race again. Or in other words, Nintendo is too busy Nintendoing to make Wave Racing again.

It's been awhile since I watched the video. I think it was on Did You Know Gaming. Not from quote but, what I got from the video. Waverace wasn't intend to be a continuation of a on going series. Which translates to me, " It's possible for another sequel but, they are too busy focusing on other I.P. so don't count on one happening".

Twilight City theme was always my favourite course theme. I also like the menu option theme

actually the original was on Game Boy. 64 made Wave Race popular & iconic, but the first game was a top down racer on the original Game Boy. I do hope Blue Storm comes later alongside other Gamecube classics as well....not to mention finally seeing a new entry. Water physics & graphics have come far since Gamecube's launch, so it's crazy Nintendo haven't showcased their mastery of water with a new Wave Race on Wii U or Switch yet

@@newageBoundhippie i would be happy just to get blue storm ported. Its still one of the best looking games there is and there has yet to be a water sport racing game even close.

@@fydiousmckormick yeah but if they finally made a new game in the series, not only would it be even better looking they could add so much to it. Online multiplayer races & trick competitions, a mix of remade classic courses & all new ones, additional modes like pure racing without the buoys, more racers & jetskis... but I also really just want to see Nintendo keep more of their racing IPs alive besides Mario Kart. Wave Race, 1080, Excite and Cruis'n especially. Cruis'n Blast gives me a little hope we might see others revived too...I'd even be happy with remasters from Gamecube & Wii entries ( plus Excitebike 64 on NSO... )

in the US games were $60 USD new. Calculating for inflation, $60 in 1996/7 in 2023 dollars is equal to about $120 now. so maybe we're lucky games don't cost $120 these days.
