I checked his site and stuff on utube, but couldn't find a method or sth to work with. Can you tell me what did you practice and how on Portal's philosophy and methods, I kinda need a starting point in his stuff?
The cool thing about that, is that he is not even a talented guy, so it's the living proof that virtually anyone can get there if they put in the energy.
He has the greatest body I've seen. Fluid movement, strength in uncomfortable and imbalanced positions, expressive. I'm not sure when more people are going to realize this and give him this credit, but he's up there with the legendary movers like Bruce Lee and Eugen Sandow. Ido definitely has influence through his being; very powerful.
jealous of what? maan.. i dont know how you but i see just a man which moves his body freely like noone can, and it charge me with positive energy. even that music and his dont care state.
The thumbs down people are the same ones that vandalize things like scratching car paint or egging houses, etc. they are jealous because they aren’t inspired or influenced by anything. Therefore they troll the internet and see a popular video and to make themselves noticeable, they do the opposite of what the majority are doing. They feel it gives them power, but this won’t get them ahead in anything but their own satisfaction. They go against the grain. They’re always going to be losers.
This man is truly special, both athletically and creatively. Someone else on these comments mentioned Bruce Lee. Ido Portal is definitely a deserving of that legendary status.
Real life story: My friend's mum saw this video and a few minutes later he found her rolling around on their sofa! Now she wants to MOVE! Cheers Ido, I will be spreading this around :)
unfortunately, my friend, I do not believe he has any programs however considering that you seem to be able to watch youtube videos whilst in prison I would recommend looking up tutorials on the movements that he performs and then start performing them.
Heard your ideas on London Real podcast. Very inspiring! I'm knew to your work so do you have something on dealing with injuries? I'm 41 and after a lifetime of martial arts my body is slowly falling apart. Training and movement are some of the greatest joys in my life so I'm not sure how to deal with it.
Have you tried reading up on Somatics? I'm currently reading 'Somatics: reawakening the mind's control of movement, flexibility, and health' by Thomas Hanna. He talks about how bodily decay due to age is nothing but a myth, How injuries and muscle decay can literally be reversed by the right mind set and some somatic exercises. Give it a read, I think it could help :) Never give up your greatest joys. Especially when that joy is in movement!
vanillaglue the purpose is to enjoy yourself, through moving, learning, applying. If you become a better mover, put it in practice with whatever end result purpose you want. But it is all open ended. Have fun learning.
Feiyue Shoes. They are like 15 bucks at the cheapest. Get at-least half a shoes size smaller than your normal shoe size. You want to grow into the shoes. Also, take it easy the first few weeks. Otherwise you'll be hurting badly after your workouts.
Wow, that's just around the corner where I go with the dog every day... Missed it.... Ido, if you are still in Berlin and like to try some Underwaterrugby, the only three dimensional ballsport, contact me, I coach the Berlin team. Sporttaucher.de. Thanks for the video!
@@soumyabhattacharjee6442tai chi is a form of chi gong. Chi gong= energy work(literal transation) This is it what he is doing from what im seeing. From What i was taught practicing genuine shaolin kung(gong) fu at nam yang. If you strive to fo non physical magic shit like healing and whatnot more internalization of it might be in place. I would csll this chi gong though :D bless
I've seen a slight change in my skateboarding , pretty much from dancing in the mirror everyday and really just trying to move my body in new ways. But just recently I've started to really control, and feel the board beneath my feet, and at the same time being able to visualize what my board will do depending on where I set up my feet. Idk if movement practice trains the understanding of physics, but it's amazing.
I never got why there are haters around this, this amount of control over your body is the biggest gift a person can give to him or herself. So healthy.
@@SmiteKite How tf is it "healthy" to be able to do a handstand push up? You'd do better using that time to work and investing the money earned in medical technology. Being massively strong will not protect you from disease.
Truly the best video to date!! Because this shows how Ido keeps exploring and evolving! So exited to see where he is and what work he brings to the world in 10-20 years.
I did capoeira for years... never quite got that good. Really not even close to quite. Pretty sure that's not "basics." Ginga and a few kicks is basics.
I´m amazed to see that so few people get this but I suppose you really need to be able to grasp some more complex concepts about movement other than just looking at the different things he is doing as specifik movements for specifik things. If you actually want to understand this then look in to it more, don´t just watch a 3 minute clip of a guy showing one tiny bit of a gigantic system, call it gymnastics and move along.
And this is why, this why Ido and his Followers, Engineers, Inventors, and the sort have now gained my respect, where as before he only had my attention. Probably the most encompassing skill video I have seen from a human. Because with this mindset, with this Dogma of evolving Dogmas you can create anything and move as the animals move in the Land, Air, and Sea. Speaking of which Ido have you experimented with water movement yet, such as full immersion under water and movement within it? I mean you already look like you flow like water you might as well just live in it for a year to see if water can learn something from you.
+Lrdvltr you can try.. Hes an expert. He has beginner routine a little bit on youtube. Try thoses maybe. But the big thing he tried to show people is just to move. Whichever way you can. Try to handstand, against a wall. Build your stabilizing muscles, go outside, climb, jump, move on the floor. It takes years, to even begin to do what he can do. But there is no start point... Be creative with your body, try things, flow on the floor. Work on balance, on everything your body can do. Squat down, stay in that position, ass to the grass. Walk in squat stance. Crawl.. Its just movement. There is no too specific things
+Lrdvltr Just do things brother! Get out and try new activities, new ways of moving. I to look at this video and think: wtf? Im hopeless. But then you go and move and do what you can and it starts to make sense. Good luck!
Hey ***** do you think of the music first or is this training videos to start and music added later... really interesting movements my friend.... Blessings!
