What I love about Dave Darlington's presentations is he's a natural communicator and teacher. I can't help learning from him, effortlessly. And his sophisticated, highly experienced yet readily accessible approach is a treasure trove to those ready to learn. I don't want to generalise, but I will! :o) Back in the day, people had time and would think before they spoke. The more gear I have, the less recording I do. Wendy Carlos said "Every new piece of technology saves me minus 10-15% time." When people just had a tape machine and desk, some compressors and reverbs then it was all down to mic technique and playing. He's had decades to consider everything. Today its like some mad competition to master everything before the new technology blows it away and, and - What would Jimi be doing now?
