This is a free pattern from Waves & Wild and it can be made using a serger/overlocker (like in this video) or using a zigzag/stretch stitch on a standard machine.
Excellent, clear concise instructions - perfect for what I needed because I couldn't get my head around the pattern instructions once I had downloaded and printed it. I searched on RU-vid and I found your video and now I understand what I need to do. Your baby boy is very beautiful and he is one lucky little boy to have handmade clothing made just for him :). Thanks for the tips etc, kind regards x
Lately I have switched to using a small crochet hook to tuck the thread tail back into the seam, but I used the tying off method for my first year and a half of using my serger and it worked well for me.
Thank you for sharing this tutorial it was really useful as I was confused with the construction of the leg pieces 😊 I was expecting there to be four pattern pieces (2 for the front and back). Thanks 😊
PS - I'd appreciate any videos showing how to 'line' up the fabric correctly, when using the serger knife. I struggle with this part. I can line up against the knife blade when I've disengaged the knife function - it sews beautifully, but to get it 'perfect' when the knife blade is cutting - I'm a bit 'hit and miss' with it. I would benefit from videos that show how to align cuff seams :) x
I keep re-watching this video, the group have been so helpful too but I've never cut 'mirror' before - it's always been on the fold. Your video has helped me to visualise what I need to do. Would you recommend Juki overlockers? I might look to get one - one day, if I need something more suited to industrial/heavier usage. I love how your baby gives you a sweet smile when you go towards him...awww :). He's such a cutie x
Thank you so much! I really like my Juki, but I have never used anything else so I cannot compare. I know many people are happy with the Brother as well. What kind do you have?
Aw, thanks. I’ve only heard good things about Juki. I have a Brother. I made a pair of pyjamas yesterday (lightning leggings). I kept going back to your video as I couldn’t understand parts of the pattern instructions-it helped me so much, thank you 💕 x
