As a 35-year-old who has spent far too much of my life waiting on the sidelines because of the voice in my head constantly telling me that I don’t deserve dreams because I’ll never be good enough to realise them, this song made me cry the first time I heard it, and almost every time after that.

I relate so much to Evan Hansen. I don’t have anxiety but I am very socially awkward and literally every conversation I have with someone I am convinced I said something weird or they think that I’m weird or they don’t like me in general or whatever. Especially right now I’m going through a lot of tough times and while I’ve not tried yet, I have suicidal thoughts daily and even after all that I still feel like I’m manipulating and effecting everyone around me and that I’m a horrible person that deserves no love and support.
