I have low porosity hair. I started using a shower cap & noticed right away my hair did better conditioning that way, so I bought a hot head today. All the women on the curly support group told me my hair will be too moisturized doing that. How the heck can my hair be too moisturized!?! Rt now it’s in protein overload bc I listened to them & did a protein treatment. Now it’s breaking off just by touching it! Imma just follow what I see. Your hair looks way healthier than the ones giving bad advice.

Low po hair is VERY hard to moisturize properly because the cuticle is so closed off. Definitely go off of your porosity and not just advice from Reddit and fb groups. When in doubt, look up “curl specialist” in whatever city you live in and shoot them a message on insta!

Hello, I'm new to trying to boost my natural curls. I too have longer and thick hair. I also have some blonde highlights and overall color treated hair. I'm not sure if this is why I have such issues with trying to finger comb my hair when wet, or even when using a Wet brush it's on the knotty side after I wash and condition my hair. I will say, I've not yet gotten/tried the masque's yet. So I'm hoping that helps. I also loose a lot of hair when I brush it wet and/or dry. It just seems that none of the YT videos I've watched, have that problem. They all brush their wet hair so easily. I hope that happens to me too, eventually. I've not tested my hair type/clean dry strand yet to find my moisture/porosity type yet. I do live in a hot area, but don't deal with humidity often. Thank you for your videos.

Extra hold! The first one is a mediumish hold gel that adds moisture and the second one is a stronger hold gel that helps seal everything in + humidity resistant

Nope! You might feel some stiffness when it dries but you can always scrunch out the crunch!

Do you think it would be a good idea to ally a lightweight oil like argan oil at the total end or will it just weight down the curls? Loved your video btw

Light weight oil is totally fine, a lot of wavies and curlies will scrunch out the crunch with oil!

Same! She should have mentioned that honestly. But I guess it's obvious that's why she didn't mentioned it. I'm guessing you rinse out the shampoo before adding in your conditioner.

Have you ever tried the Denman brush? Ps does the code also work for the UK?

I believe it only applies to the US and Canadian sites BUT I'd double check to see if the sale is on the UK site as well. I also haven't tried the denman brush as yet! My handy dandy diane brush has been my right hand girl lol

I’ve been seeing a lot of baby hair regrowth but I also lost quite a bit of hair last year and it’s all growing back now

You’d have to wear a bonnet or a scarf, even then your hair isn’t going to look the same after sleeping on it as it did on wash day.

I’m curious as to why you use both gels? Any benefits? I’ve used the Giovanni and feel like as the day goes in my 2b-c gets stretched out from it and they go limp. Am I doing something wrong when using it?

I use two gels for extra hold, there are so many factors that play into your hair stretching out I wouldn’t think it’s solely the gel

The Giovanni gel (depending on how much you use) can create a cast but the Curlsmith gel doesn’t really get hard.

Use more water! If you’re finding your hair is getting stringy when you style outside of the shower keep a spray bottle with water close by and add water as needed
