I have just discovered this video and so glad to find it. This video is so beautifully done and I totally enjoyed it. The finished project is just fantastic. Thank you for producing it. See you in the advanced class and so looking forward to it.
Shari, your work is beautiful and inspiring... and your videos... so well filmed. The mood and tone compliment your work so well. I've been a photographer for 20 odd years now and have started incorporating Cyanotype and Encaustic into my final pieces. I'm curious if you know of an adhesive or process that would work well for mounting cyanotypes printed on paper to wood or other surfaces. My concerns are PH balance, acid, and print longevity. Subscribed with bells :) Look forward to seeing what you do next!
Thank you so much Kevin and welcome to the channel ! Yes, archival PVA bookbinders glue . I mount my cyanotypes the same way that I do my photographs that I mount on panel for encaustic. I have listed the exact glue I use for you here in the details of the post under favorite glue for mounting .
The whole production is beautifully done, Shari. The final result is spectacular. Did you paint the panel with encaustic medium before you put down the walnut ink?
Thank you for sharing your process in such a beautiful way. The music is so soothing. Please can you tell me what it is? Sorry if you have done so elsewhere. Thank you. I am inspired by your creative process and your art is beautiful. Thank you.
Hi Leigh-Ann! I know your comment is old but if you see this I looked up the songs in the video, they are: Today Is a Good Day to Live - John T. Graham, Pretty Little Moments - Airae, Reconstruct - Amaranth Cove, Ivory Tower - Philip Ayers, I Will Remember - Gavin Luke. Hope that helps :)
Hi there I am about to start a project like this myself on silk but I am afraid of it fading with time as it is to be mounted in a room saturated with sunlight, is there a sealer I could purchase to prevent the cyanotype from fading?
