I think you have to play it to understand how difficult it is. There is nothing harder. And those people who say it is just an etude, can go and play popper for themselves for the rest of their life.
Dear Mr. Smith, I am very curious, how long such piece took you to prepare from the moment you first read the score until you performed it 1st time? chapeau bas!
celloj thanks for the interest. I got the score in October and played it for the first time in December, this performance was from February. However I kind of built up to this over the years with other violin transcriptions,... it's not something I could have done years ago
