@@The_W-tcher if all of humanity were more "aware" more "conscious" at the same time and at the same depth we may be able to control our collective reality. Going to the moon started with an idea that maybe we could. A bunch of people collectively decided to make it happen. Humans take ideas and make them real. Literally.
I forgot why mastermind is called mastermind when he’s the “youngest” also is his existence even necessary, we already have “mr robot” but anyway, watching these old dialogues after finishing the series, fuuuuuu, tripppinnnn harddd, so many things to dissect
@@stonecat676 Mr robot is smart and strong but he didn't completely protect Elliot. Mastermind completely took over Elliots body so that Elliot won't face those few disappointments and pain that mastermind felt throughout the series. Those things almost broke mastermind, imagine what it could do real fragile soft Elliot.
*SPOILERS STOP READING IF YOU SOMEHOW HAVEN'T WATCHED SEASON 1* This scene is actually incredibly hilarious from everyone else's perspective. He just shows up at Fsociety's doorstep again, stares at Darlene wordlessly and then walks off to ride the Ferris Wheel on his own - assuming that's happening outside his head.
It's fascinating how important a good ending is. This show really ended on a good note, so I can rewatch it forever. Shows like Game of Thrones, I can never ever rewatch again just knowing how poorly it has been concluded.
exactly!!! the ending makes this whole show worth re-watching forever because the writer didn't spit in the face of the fans for once! The ending even enhances the earlier seasons!
I would rather a show end after a few seasons with a satisfying arc that ties the beginning to the end. Much better than shows which drag out forever or shows which are rushed at the end and throw it all away (like GoT).
You can still watch game of thrones up to around season 5, that's when they still had the books to rely on. Once they had to do it themselves it went downhill fast. Season 1 especially is probably one of the best recreations of a book to TV ever.
Or is it? It seems intentional. Mr Robot makes homages to movies like Fight Club (not to mention Where is my Mind song) and they're usually very direct about it.
I just love how they used neil diamond's "if you go away" in this episode, and then in the last jacque brel's original french version "ne me quitte pas". the show's producers and writers have been amazing start to finish
rod mckuen is an american poet, wildly unknown and very obscure, mostly because of the fact that he was openly gay, he wrote "if you go away" because he was friends with brel and ended up collaborating on an english version on it, an amazing and rare talent in the literary world, it breaks my heart that more people dont know his name.
maybe this plays on his connection with darlene? she hummed that one french song in elliots withdrawal hallucinations in s1 and according to him also sung it a lot when she was a child. wouldn’t surprise me if she just spoke french and this is sorta a hint about how he’s grown closer to her during the show
OMG. Just noticed, at 0:01, there is a news article in Russian. It describes the arrest of a hacker who stole food and killed someone called "Meid". And then describes his character as someone in need of control etc. It is amazing to see that even on-screen articles in foreign languages are hidden Easter Eggs. Edit: The hacker's name was Drew Wood if that means anything.
Oh God every moment of this show hits hard. Nothing like it in my lifetime. I held off on season 4 until recently because I didn't want it to ever end.
*Season 4 Spoilers* It always bothered me trying to keep the timeline of when the MM arrived, whether it was his plan or Mr Robots, and it finally clicked. It was the MM's plan, he brought fsociety together and started the ball rolling. But gradually the MM started to overstep his bounds. He locked Elliot away, and started living his life for him. He eventually forgot what he was and what he was created for. Then Mr Robot stepped in. He knew what was happening, and decided the best option to get the MM to release control was to get him back on target. He told MM that the plan was his, and took credit for fsociety, afraid that confronting MM head on would do more damage and cause him to dig further in out of denial. Every time we see Elliot start to get comfortable, or threaten to go back to "his normal life", that's when Mr Robot pushes the hardest. He knows that the MM is an anger-fueled savior at his core, and thought that if he convinced MM to complete his original mission, he wouldn't be needed anymore and would give up control of Elliot. But he never did, so Mr Robot had to keep pushing to go bigger, or to return to he started, to finally give MM a victory he would be satisfied with so he would let Elliot out. He took credit for so many things that the MM did to Elliot, like the faulty memories of his past, or the plan for 5/9, out of a misplaced sense of protecting Elliot, both from the outside world and also from himself. I think that's also why he was so apposed to reversing 5/9. He saw it as an enormous step backwards from getting Elliot back, until he started to see that it was doing more damage to him than letting it play out. Then in season 4 especially, Mr Robot began to worry that there would never be an end goal big enough for the MM to relinquish control over Elliot. He would just continue to spiral deeper into anger and hatred until he had nothing left. The MM had forgotten his mission was originally to create a safe future for Elliot, not himself. And when all of the bad guys were finally brought down, and MM was ready to straight up kill Elliot in order to be happy (whether it was possible to or not) was when Mr Robot and pseudo-Krista finally had to sit MM down and spell everything out for him. Confront him with the truth now that he had no other excuses to stay other than his own fear and selfishness. That the only people left for him to hurt were the people he cared about and himself by refusing to let go his rage and his need for control.
So a persona created their own persona while the real identity is locked in their subconscious unaware that their first persona has stolen his own life because MasterMind really believes he’s Elliot
that was the better idea wasnt it. altho they didnt told how much money each one got. Also, E coin is for US residents only maybe? but the deus group has been eating off the backs of the poor people in poor countries as well like iran middle east and africa. do those people get share as well?

HOLY SHIT THE RUSSIAN TEXT AT 0:03 PREDICTS THE ENTIRE PLOT! Deep in the archives of the Livingston Criminal Court lies a document that tells the story of Drew Wood, who was judged by two allegations. One of them was theft of a little bit of food, and the other about the murder of a MAID (the word wasn't translated properly lol) that tried to stop him (from stealing food?). He was alleged and sentenced at once (as a one?), just as the people's measure of happiness back then. This self-proclaimed hacker that steals from people *not what is far* (can't translate). It's his ego's tricks and uncertainty in assuming that he has the right to do it whenever he wants. But life has lots of variables, and what is going on need to go down. For pure people it happens fast. For people with not so pure of a heart it happens slower. It's building up slowly with every act of pain that is dealt to another person. And when the falling pennies are forever placed in hopes of a clear coming *driver* (can't reverse translate :( ). Many more lives are going to come and go, and everything will be filled with suffering. Because when a butterfly flaps it's wings, suddenly it leaves in the water lots of changes. A steady flow of alienation and hate will be cut into him, as he cut it into others, again and again with every breath. Sometimes he will feel relief. But it's nothing but a planned illusion, and more unhappiness comes. That way, maybe, just maybe... (the text cuts off.)
Gideon doesn't want Elliott recruited so he puts Angela as account executive. Tyrell knows Elliott was tech savvy and told Terry before meeting. Both sides trying to get Elliott. First viewing: "Yeah. That's Darlene." Oh, new character I need to know. Ok Second viewing again after you understand the context: "Yeah, that's Darlene." Yeah, I get it now.
Notice that he was writing Javascript when he is looking at the debt amount in a bank website that is so similar with citibank that has an address which has full of typos?
Elliot was ready to turn F society in and do “the lawfully right thing” until he saw the douchebag Colby was and how he belittled Angela for no reason other than that she’s a female, thus changing his mind, not because he agrees with F society, but for Angela, his fantasy love, and thus to make Colby pay he does the morally right thing.
And then it turns out that Angela was just dumb. Who the hell accumulates 200k in student debt lmao. Unless you become a lawyer or a doctor, of course she was never going to pay that off.
It actually never occured to me that she was being belittled because she's female, lol. I guess sexism doesn't exist in my world and therefore I didn't notice it.
@@VulcanOnWheels it was a prominent theory that before the finale aired, the show was going to be revealed to be taking place in a simulated reality, or some kind of otherwise faux reality

@@sayyadabbas8687 and the scenery is amazing as well. In most of the scenes the characters seem to be distant, and when they are physically close together the background people are blurred to make them distant from the rest of the world. Watching the show for the second time gives you the chance to focus on so many minor details. There was a scene in the first season where mr robot ordered a drink at a bar and Elliot ordered the same thing, and Elliot was charged $12. At first I thought 'what an expensive drink?' but now I’m realizing that Elliot was being charged for two drinks, since they are the same person. It’s minor details like those that make this show so worth watching
I just realized that the English version of Ne Me Quitte Pas (If You Go Away) is playing in this scene. They used the original song in the final episode. Mind blown!
Socially inept in 21st century means a completely SANE and sensible person, somebody who hasn't lost his soul in this insane, sick society. "It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society." (Krishnamurti)
That quote is referring to ethics and morals and how society is built upon greed, not extreme schizophrenia. So. As someone who's schizophrenic, i don't think thinking someone is hiding outside of my house to kill me makes me sane. Idiot...
After watching all seasons its interesting to review episodes like this from another perspective...when you know whats really going on.. 😄 This show asks me rewatch it again.. what an A piece?!..
**HEAVY SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES** . . . . . At this point, he already came up with all of it - he started fsociety with Darlene the previous Halloween. But at the start of the series, he forgets he is just a personality, forgets his purpose and starts living the life with the same memories of the real Elliot locked in the F World (not knowing he has DID or that he is preparing a revolution). Mr. Robot appears to get him back on track, which is what he is doing here.

@@taraskuzyk8985 Thank you for doing that. It sounds really over dramatic for a news article, almost bordering on a bad attempt at Shakespeare in places lol
So I have a question. Who killed the owner of the arcade? The online report said the police didn’t believe that is was connected to the other 2 shootings on cony island. It just seems “odd” Elliot found a place obscure enough in its owners that no one” including himself” would suspect someplace like that to be the home base and catalyst for what was to come.
As amazing as this show is and as amazing as this episode is, I find it unfortunate that it doesn't show the reality behind student loans. And that is that student loan debt only exists because our government subsidizes loans for students without any threshold of circumstances. Meaning, if a student who wants to major in something that doesn't guarantee employment upon graduation, they will still grant them their loan. That student graduates and can't find a job or if they find a job in their degree, the pay is so low that it would take decades to pay off their loan especially if their interest rates are anything higher then 5%.
In Germany you don't need to take a loan, you can just study for like 50€ a semester. Should be like that anywhere. it's the state investing in future tax payers
