I wouldn’t waste my time doing all that work for a back up cam. But, if I was doing it with the Mrs. and she enjoyed spending time together then, it’s worth it. Good job bloke. (:
Hi theo, is there a guide you followed or could you explain on what you did when you was wiring up to your camera to the LCD screen and how you wired up your plate light, thanks
At least you didnt have to build a whole new wiring harness. I had to do that for all my exterior lights which is all on racing toggles now. Its a 1991 Mistubishi Eclipse that I've had for 15 years now. Now I am basically redoing everything that connects to the front wheels and I have to cut out some bolts because Mitsubishi decided that it was a good idea to weld them in so when your control arm hollows out so the ball joint doesnt sit snug you have to get out the grinder... yay me. Little by little I am getting it back to how it should be.
I almost had to skip to the end to see if you did it because it was stressing me out seeing the car in bits lmao! All for a damn camera aha! Admire the determination and successfully doing it though!
It took me way more than 2 hours to get the rear bumper of my MA70, i think they're designed to be a pain in the ass to take off but aslong as its secure, im happy
Don't know if it's available for the r34, but there's brake lights with the reversing camera in it, so you don't need to adapt stuff. My dad and me installed one on my Mom's Alfa Romeo, and she even has the screen integrated in the rear view mirror. (When the screen turns off, it's looks like a normal mirror, and when you put it into reverse, you see the screen through the mirror.)
Don't worry, it's normal to find a little bit of rust on an old car, by the way that car deserves a bigger garage lol. Also building a lift and a loft in the garage would be nice
Panthaa I just got 2002 R34 skyline GTR V-Spec that looks almost identical except mine is red I just got home from Utah were I picked it up it is amazing performing car and looks amazing
Loving the gtr project (very jealous) just a quick one. Try blag your self a halfords trade card if you don't already have one. Itl save you a small fortune!
Really good work dude and congrats on doing it properly ie removing the interior to run the wires properly, just one thing please don’t leave those scotch lock connectors on, I have seen so many problems caused by them. Hell im working on my car from Thursday next week just up the road from the Halfords at Bescot you used to use, if you want to come up il solder and heatshrink them properly for you so you know they are safe, and if you can get that bracket out il get the rust off and paint it up for you too
