I think that waverly fell in love (with Nicole) first. Admittedly, Nicole was “crushing” and attracted first to Waverly. But that is not falling in love. That is a physical response to another human being. Waverly, on the the other hand, being highly sensitive fell hard for Nicole as the awakening of her true, core self began to unfold. This is an emotional response of the heart. Yep,Waverly fell in love first. ✌🏻❤️🤝🎶
Waverly for sure. She said Nicole "she was special" and it was serious for her from the start. I think Nicole fell in love only in early season 2. In season 1 I think it was still a crush for her. Nicole was the one who had a crush first but the one who fell in love was Waverly.

It's in the barn scene when she turns to kiss Nicole with next-level passion. Before that, their affection was giddier, more driven by sexual attraction. At that barn scene, it's more emotional b/c Nicole has stuck around for Waverly through the trying times of Willa's return and Waverly being shot, and I think that was very reassuring to Waverly. Where Nicole is showing love through comfort/support, Waverly reciprocates with the kind of kissing you just don't have in 'flings'.
Nicole was crushing on Waverly. Ofcourse she was still married that time. Meanwhile Waverly..the first time she saw Nicole she's already attracted and always get gay panic when Nicole's around 😂

I concur with @gulamelaka77, it was on Season 1 Episode 13 where Waverly admitted to Wynonna saying "Wynonna, please, I love her". And I second that motion @Carole Richoux on her reasoning why Waverly did fall in love first in their relationship.
No, guys, wait. Isn't "love at first sight" thing when they both interacted with each other for the first time and we had that beautiful scene filled with DomKat chem if I may add. I mean, that must mean that they (WayHaught) fell in love right there and then AT THE SAME TIME. (That's what I choose to believe in anyways hahaha)
I'm watching a rerun of this panel right now where they're discussing that subject. Kat says she really doesn't know. Dom talks about all the different stages of love. Especially because Waverly is going through so much at the moment. But the last thing anybody said was Nicole. ❤️
It was Nicole. She had a diary on Tumblr for S1 (maybe Katherine doesn't know of this?) She talked first to Waverly, then she went after her again to apologize, then she felt super disappointed when Waves told her maybe they should be just friends. When the first kiss happened, Nicole looks at her with adoration. When Waverly told Doc she was trying with Nicole, Doc acknowledged "she adores you back." Katherine said on another panel she wasn't sure Nicole was the first to fall in love. I don't know what she was thinking. 😒 But it was Nicole, definitely. Thanks for posting this. This was asked at a different panel and I think Nicole was really attracted to her and wanted to make the moves at some point. Then Dom said it was Gus who told her to have who she wants.
At first I thought it was Waverly because Nicole liked her but for Waverly were more feelings involved... but now I re-watched the serie and Nicole did both, liked her and loved her before Waverly figure it out to herself... also, two different types of love. Nicole wanted Waverly but she wasn't sure if she can get her, because she didn't know for sure if she was into women, she loved her enough to wait and let her think, discover it herself but still being caring and protective. And Waverly had to deal with her own feelings but she knew Nicole liked her back...

I don't think it would be a weird answer to say they both fell in love at the same time?! Waverly confessed first when Willa tried to shoot her but the situation required it and I still think they both just fell in love and they fell fast!!
Personally speaking, I presume Waverly fell in love with Nicole first. There is a clear distinctiveness between 'crushing' and 'loving'. Nicole, since the first met, she might have had strong chemistry with Waverly. And, Waverly loved Nicole first. She did exhibit that affection through her transition in Sexuality cognition. Besides, It's not which sexuality you are, it's whom you love, and I feel totally nauseous when tagging someone just because of whom they fall in love with or else. I earnestly believe that we shouldn't do it anymore. There are only two varieties of people, guys, one is those decent and benign whom we should befriend with, two is those depraved hedonists who should be rotten in jail.
I'm not sure. I think the moment my brain decided Nicole was in love with Waverly was 2x02, the scene with like all the records, before the _other stuff_ happens. But Waverly admits it herself a good few episodes earlier, in the 1 finale. But then I question if she was just emotional or actually meant it and ugh...
