I always thought it would have been so cool if when Waylon was 50 or so, around 1987, he'd have showed up for a concert looking like this--clean shaven, with short hair and wearing a suit and tie.

I’ve never seen a pick guard like on Porter’s guitar before. I have faint memories of watching him and Dolly on tv. Back when country was country.

I'm drawing a parallel here....I prefer the pre-outlaw look AND songs of Waylon....just like I prefer the pre-Jumpsuited Vegas Elvis...recognising I'm in the minority! Credit also to the superb sound quality and editing on your site!

Such a beautiful song! Even though Kris wrote it and sings it well; I still prefer to hear Waylon do it.Yes, Kris Kristofferson wrote some amazing songs. Almost all of the music that I listen to is retro country, and it's fading away too fast.

I used to carry after noon news papers on Saturdays in a little town in Ohio try to hurry to get done get all my chores done so I could watch Porters show miss those great shows and talent, and they weren't afraid to show there faith in God.

You are either young or not from the South. Men often refer to other men as “that boy from down the road” or “he’s a good ol’ boy”. Had Porter said “Boy grab my bags” that is disrespectful. The word is not used in that context here. Don’t be so sensitive.
