How wet does your basement get?

@@TheReviewd00d I'm a new owner of the house but we had a good amount of rain all night and it was enough to fill the sump 6" below the top. The float was stuck so it never came on. First week with the house it could have flooded right there .. typically there's always around 8" of water in the sump at all times. So I think two primary sumps with their own discharge lines for starters. The 2nd primary I'm thinking will be connected to a battery backup which is connected to an inverter. I'm just researching everything but am I wrong or is an inverter system backup with an lithium ion battery connected to a deep cell battery seem like a smart thing to do? Or should both primaries have a battery backup what do you think? Also I don't like the idea of two pumps being tied together. You replace one but have to replace both even though one pump could be completed fine. Also with separate pumps you can pre fab the piping to replace a pump very quickly. I'm new to this all but it makes sense. Currently wondering about the startup draw of sump pumps exceeding the breaker. For example a 1/2 Zoeller pump will pull roughly 4x the running amps ( I phoned Zoeller) so 34 amps about . Wondering if this is a problem for inverter backups? Unless you have a humongous inverter most will not be able to supply that on paper anyway..... Same for generators most on paper will not provide 34 amps. So then I got into breaker researcher themselves about and how many appliances pull more than the breaker is rated for for a very short term.... And also how there are max breaker sizes for different HP pumps ..... Uggg

You could get a wireless water sensor if you are concerned about flooding. Govee and Yolink have good options. It won’t prevent water from coming in, but you will at least be alerted if there is an issue.
