Florida Man battle royal were the ring is a hurricane closing in. You collect things like drugs and lawnmowers to aid yourself in combat against other Florida people and the wild life.
@@joeclarke7982 My wife and I liked watching it, but I think once Alyssa was floating back and forth with trying to ditch james and get married and whatever just felt really messy we stopped watching once they were living in that trailer with her dad I think it was
Wayne was fucking awesome and as soon as I learned it got canceled I actually felt hurt. Mostly because it was actually fucking good and wasn't trying to make any overt political statements, something I _massively_ appreciated.
That’s a great point. One thing I actually love about this show is how diverse the cast is without putting a lense on it or feeling like the writing are patting themselves on the back just for having a black character. All the characters are actually well written and given clear personalities even the side characters with very little screen time. Great show all around.
I also feel like no one ever talks about the fact that Wayne is very clearly somewhere on the ASD spectrum. He is incredibly impulsive, has a special interest in Conan, is very sensory (his mild obsession with smells), cannot do eye contact most of the time, doesn't get a lot of jokes/sarcasm, doesn't really get the need to lie, very blunt with his feelings, feels very disconnected from almost everyone he knows, social cues don't really mean anything to him, severe sense of justice, etc. etc. to prove my point. He is so clearly on this spectrum and yet it is never shown as his weakness. It's just the way he is. And he can and does make meaningful connections with people in spite of it, without being the smarter-than-thou cinema version of ASD that is so often displayed. I love him so very much as a character and i just feel like it should be talked about a little bit more.
*"You think that you're entitled to everything just because you've suffered, but suffering isn't enough!"* Is the quote that immediately came up to me. I like the idea and I might pick it up in the future, but I never really liked those "weehh! I came from a shitty household so I'm going to take it out on the world! Weeehhh!" Just because YOU have been treated like shit doesn't give you the right to do it to others.
But it's not that basic, it's not just "the world" and they don't take it out on "the world" it's usually theyre specific environment taking revenge on that specific environment and in the process they find a way out of it and forgiveness. Your logic is equally stupid. There's no right answers in hell.
It’s funny when I first saw the trailers I thought it was some sort of weird spin off of Batman or something and thought this is probably dumb. It’s only until some one like you years later tells me what a gem it was. My good show radar is fucked.
Wayne is like a poem or ohmage to mid 2000's city life, as much as some of you might not relate to the characters, this show hits home for a lot of people, and Wayne keeps it fairly PG. Seen and experienced stuff a lot worse than what the characters go through in this. It hits close though.
This show is such a golden gem. I don't think I'll ever stop obsessing over it and desperately wishing for a season 2. There is just so much about this show that I love.
Pretty neat how both of the good RU-vid Originals were quality stories about troubled men who are defined by their relationship with physical violence. I like violent loser stories.
I'm really hoping for this show to come back. The creator of the show sounds like someone that really is pouring his heart and soul into this project and I'd hate for him to never get to show us the rest of it.
Really glad to see your growth in these types of analysis/review type of videos. I appreciate the ability to talk about edgy shows without being overly edgy yourself. Can't wait for more of your Berserk content
The cops were a little to cutesy with the sitcom banter until Ginger cop did a huge 180 and became such a hardass it was a really cool payoff but I think the twins had the best dialogue hands down😆
I kinda hope Amazon doesn't do anything with it, since they'd probably force the creators to shove a bunch of woke shit into the show. As it stands, I'm glad it exists, but I don't want to see it continue.
I don't think Amazon will be doing that, at least as much as every other streaming service, I mean, Amazon did do Invincible and the Boys, but eh who knows, hopefully Amazon won't do that though
What I really appreciated about Wayne is the fact that the show never depicted Wayne and Del as physical powerhouses just for the rule of cool. It shows them both as what they are, just two kids with both fucked up circumstances. Whenever Wayne would get into a fight it's over in a flash with the use of a quick surprise strike or it's a slugfest with Wayne struggling to get back up on his feet. He's never depicted as an unstoppable force.
Yup and notice how he almost always utilises some sort of weapon, and when he doesn't, he really struggles. He's skinny and probably not very physically strong and he knows it. It's a weak kid who refuses to get bullied or for anyone else to get bullied on his watch.
I’ll definitely check this show out. Props to you for making the review. Never heard about it until now, and I ignored RU-vid originals like the plague. Edit: Binged the series today all in one go. It’s 7:43AM right now. Amazing show. Damn tragedy it got canceled. I hope it gets a revival.
Thanks for the rec Loli. Hopefully a new season's in the cards at some point and it's not too late, really enjoyed the show and it ended on a biting cliffhangar.
Nice review, as usual. Thanks, I don't think i would ever find this show myself. Looks very promising. Gonna give it a go this week. Good luck with your apartment troubles.

god i miss this show. I watched it when it first came out in 2019 I think. it was such a breath of fresh air for me, the characters, both main and side were lovable, the music, the athmosphere...and then, bam, fucking cancelled..
I can't believe this never came across my radar! I used to pay for the premium service and enjoyed the hell out of Cobra Kai and another show called Impulse. The latter was created by Doug Limon and well worth your time if you ever are able to give it a look. It's sort of like a continuation or off-shoot story from the movie Jumper, only much, MUCH more well done. It has fantastic characters, acting, special effects, etc. It also handles some disturbing subject matter and does not hold back in the event itself and the trauma that follows, so beware!
[SPOILER] That Conan scene is a moment where there is such violence but its also extremely emotional and for those who didn't get why, Conan's last words were his late father's last words. That one hit me hard at the time but its one of those moments when they are actually going hard on both ends being emotionally intense and having of all things actual gore in the mix.
Amazon Primes got Wayne available? Lucky me then…thanks for this video dude. I never would’ve found out about Wayne till this video by now. Again thanks Loli…
truly a shame the show ended out of nowhere, it was part of this cool wave of shows with cold opens and dark witty humor. hope the writers find a place to keep doing this stuff
You can find this on RU-vid for free now. Search up “Wayne” and it’s one of the first playlists. You can usually find most RU-vid originals on RU-vid for free now.
So, not making any confirmations but I saw someone say they message the director on. Twitter and that he said that current he was filming another show but after that they may be making a second season. Idk how true the info is but the show was pretty popular on prime and they do have it all story boarded so there’s a decent chance it comes back for a second season which I really hope it does.
I want you to know I’ve been a big fan of your content for a while and I’m kinda impressed by your diverse music taste I would’ve never for seen, I also like the sword and wolf mother. Awesome video as always
I disagree with a couple of things. First, I don't think Wayne is a comedy. It's got it's dark hunour which adds to the atmosphere but I don't think it's supposed to make you laugh. I don't remember finding anything in it particularly hilarious, though I was often smiling. It's just that making you laugh is not the show's goal, as it would be if it were a comedy. Second, describing Wayne as a thug feels cheap. He's a troubled young man who fights AGAINST thugs and bullies. Like a certain other Wayne.
I watched the first episode on YT for free, and I wanted to check out the rest of it, but I didn't want to give in to RU-vid's stupid premium service, and I couldn't find a place to watch the show anywhere else.
Have you played Darkwood? I would love to see you play or review it Its just 15$ ^^ I suggest it heavily Edit Distrust costs about the same and is fun. The only game I ever raged quit on, when there was NK visible threat aside from the area. Furtherst I ever gotten in that game up to that point I got angry at my character being cold, getting hungry (not really she just ate and the bar was showing the food just being there) I had left 2 characters behind in a coma in a cabin. At the time I was play Xcom war of the chosen, and Darkest dungeon
FUUuuuck the fact it ends on a cliffhanger killed my itch to watch the show, its deffinately going into the "shows i pray for a second season everynight" alongside goblin slayer and such. Edit: GOBLINS SLAYER GOT A SEASON 2 THIS YEAR TF?!!!??!
