Ma sha Allah Welcome to Islam May Allah keep you steadfast on our beautiful true religion and help you walk on the straight path forever ameen suma ameen ☺️
Salam Alaikoum, I’m a single mum with 4 young kids , my husband left me for another lady - left us with absolutely nothing - used me to build up so much debt and just received eviction notice . I’m not asking for money just some food , nappies and to put a smile on my boys face on Eid . Djazakoum Allaho khrayran .
Unfortunately we do not know how true this is as a lot of people use Islam to lie and steal, a RU-vid msg is not enough for someone to send money to a random person
“A charity is due for every joint in each person on every day the sun comes up: to act justly between two people is a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting up his belongings onto it, is a charity; a good word is a charity, and removing a harmful thing from the road is a charity.” (Al-Bukhari, Muslim)
What is Zakah? Zakah is one of the five pillars of Islam and is a duty performed on a regular basis. Zakah is not an option it is a compulsory act for all Muslims. It is a contribution paid once a year on savings of two and a half percent. This giving is to “cleanse” your money and possessions from excessive desire for them or greed. The idea is, that by giving this money you learn not to place too much importance on material wealth (cash and possessions). Zakah is a compulsory payment and is neither charity nor a tax. It is expected from every Muslim individual. It is paid on the net balance after a Muslim has spent on basic necessities, family expenses, due credits, donations and taxes. Zakah provides us with the opportunity of sharing our excess wealth with those less fortunate than ourselves. In fact we and our wealth belong to Allah. He is the real owner and we are merely the trustees of His wealth. We do our duty as trustees if we pay Zakah as an obligatory part of Ibadah. Islam is a complete code of life which includes among other things, the economic side of life. Islam has its own economic principles. Zakah is one of the basic principles of the Islamic economy, based on social welfare and fair distribution of wealth. In addition to the compulsory payment of Zakah, Muslims are encouraged in the Qur’an to make voluntary contributions to help the poor and needy, and for other social welfare purposes. This voluntary contribution is called Sadaqah (Charity). Through the payment of Zakah, the rich share their wealth with the poor and thus the process of concentration of wealth is checked and fair distribution ensured. One of the key concerns that many people have is that any Zakah given reaches the people in need, this means that there is no money kept by a charity for administration etc. Ummah Welfare Trust operate under a 100% donations policy, this means that every single penny reaches the people in need. ‘Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) as saying: If any owner of gold or silver does not pay what is due on him, when the Day of Resurrection would come, plates of fire would be beaten out for him; these would then be heated in the fire of Hell and his sides, his forehead and his back would be cauterized with them. Whenever these cool down, (the process is) repeated during a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand years, until judgment is pronounced among servants, and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise or to Hell’ - Sahih Muslim
My doubt is that, any where in the Quran or Swaheeh hadees does it say that Zakat is due and payable on yearly basis. I heard some of them saying that there is no such authentic saying that you should calculate and pay on yearly basis. Also is there any hadees saying that you need to pay zakah for only the amount which is left after your basic necessaties. Can anyone help me with proofs from Quran and swaheeh hadees
@@mhdaslam3976 And establish prayer and give Zakat, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah.” (2:110, Qur’an) As one of the pillars of Islam, zakat is a form of obligatory charity that has the potential to ease the suffering of millions. With the literal meaning of the word being ‘to cleanse,’ Muslims believe that paying zakat purifies, increases and blesses the remainder of their wealth. “Whoever pays the zakat on his wealth will have its evil removed from him” (Ibn Khuzaimah and at-Tabarani). Zakat is also a spiritual connection to one’s maker - to purify your wealth for the will of Allah is to acknowledge that everything we own belongs to Him, and it is for Him that we strive to end poverty and help our brothers and sisters. According to the Hanafi madhab, zakat is 2.5% of wealth that has been in one’s possession for a lunar year. If wealth amounts to less than a threshold figure, termed the nisab, then no zakat is payable. If wealth amounts to more than the nisab, zakat becomes obligatory. To find out if you are eligible, use our Zakat Calculator. “Of their goods, take zakat, so that you might purify and sanctify them.” (9:103, Qur’an) Islamic Relief utilises zakat to help some of the world’s poorest and most destitute communities. Your donations bring joy to these people, and brings hope that one day they will be able to give rather than receive zakat.
@@mercifulislam5263 so how would I do this very specifically? Would I set up a zakat bank account a year before eid and deposit money into that? And then take out 2.5% on the day of eid and repeat? Or what I take out 2.5% of my annual income, or my gross income? Can you be very specific and describe it as if you are the one doing it please? I am a young man and don’t know the specifics of how to give Zakat.
I still didn't understand the practical way, can anyone explain it more easily the part where like I should calculate what I have from ramadhan to ramadhan or only at that time of next ramadhan what I have
@Al Mudarabah so brother lets say if i get a job and let's say a fixed salary of $500 per month, then if every month i use all the money i would not have any idle money let for zakah but zakah is mandatory so does that mean to pay zakah only if money is kept in savings left for 1 hijri year and جزاك الله خيرا
I have a question. I have about $75000.00 in my savings account and about $ 2000.00 in cash. I owe $125500.00 to the bank for my mortgage and auto loans. How should I calculate my zakat if my depts are higher than my assets? Thank you.
You have a mortgage and auto loans, but you not paying everything at once. You even with debt you still have to pay zakat based on what is in your savings for the entire year. Sorry!
Get rid of your debts and pay what you find excess. Zakat is not a fixed amount, it's voluntary giving of what is excess. And they ask you as to what they should spend. Say, “The surplus”. 2:219
@flipart leo loan is ok if it's without interest, let's say someone loaned you 1000$ when you give it back after a couple months it should be the same amount.
My question is this. For example, Say the 1st of Ramada I had 50K in my bank account last year. I paid Zakat on that. And the 1st of Ramadan I have 56K in the bank account this year. This year do I pay zakat on 56K or do I pay it on 6K? Since I paid Zakat on 50k last year.
You pay for everything you have at the time its due. In your case, the whole 56k. And next year say you reach 67k. Then you pay for the 67k. And so on.
I had the same question. The person has had the extra 6k for less than a year it seems. So does that mean they still pay zakat on it despite having it for less than a year, or do they pay it on the original 50k which they’ve had for more than a year
Things were really different that time but It is hard to argue on some circumstances. For an example my parents own million dollar property but it is on rent. They are retired and they survive from that property. Now 2.5% of million dollar is $25000 which is higher than their annual rent income. Now if they need to pay zakaat on that properties then they have to sell one of the property. Thus every year they have to sell something and over the years they will ended up living on the road. May Allah forgive us.
M Mithun the zakat payment is done ONLY when the wealth or property which u have is stagnant or it is being not used....in other words u r not dependent on it....
What ever the amount you save from the rents and and it completes one year and it is above the limits (nisab) then zakat will be applicable to that amount. Not on the value of property. One option.
I have heard you pay all your debts first say you have 50,000 and owe 10,000, so you pay off your 10,000 loan so you owe nothing now but have 40,000 and pay that 2.5% on the 40k which is $1,000 ... Abdullah Aid and Mercy USA are excellent charities . 💟
Zakat need to DISTRIBUTED equally back to peoples. Zakat collection for that particular year, cannot be accumulated to subsequent year and need to distribute to peoples. Amanah!
Is Zakaat based on net worth everything you own include home value? What if your net worth is allot vs dollar amount you have in your account? In this case if I give Zakaat on net worth the amount money I have to save every month will be more then annual income.
Aassalamualaikum! If I have asset such as House, Car or any other tangible asset, shall I consider those asset's monetary value during the calculation of Zakat. In addition, if any of those assets are on loan, how should I calculate the amount?
Hi, I'm a private primary teacher, but unemployed since lockdown, can you please help me with your zakat, I'm going to spend your money on food My upi id is hafeed 777@upi
Sorry for a really late reply but if you had the intention of selling the tangible assets i.e for trade then you should consider them while calculating zakaat otherwise it shouldnt be included. For a house, if you intend to oive in it then no zakaat on that. If it is a rented out property then zakaat is due on the amount recieved as rent and if for sale then the market value of that house for zakaat calc purposes. Hope that helps as an answer
Guys I have a doubt, I received a scholarship of money last month, however I live in my parents house and I don't have any regular income (I don't work). I suppose that It is compulsory for me to pay zakat ul fitr, but what about the other zakat (zakat on money)? It is compulsory on me because of the scholarship?
Assalamalikum As well all we are aware the Zakat rules that Zakat money can not be given to Masjid, The question is if a person’s zakat money before reach to him and he passed away, In that condition can his money could we give it to a masjid so that at least he may gets sawab E jariya. That will more beneficial for a deceased. Please input or find a solution. JazakAllahKhairn
What about the amounts we will not recieve as we know the person will not give? What about the properties which are our but not receiving any income and someone else created false paper about the property and we have very less chance of having it back?
Fatima Matin if you’ve given a credit to someone and you think they won’t return then there will be no zakat but all of a sudden if they come back with the amount, you only have to pay for one year. But if you’re sure the amount will come back and its been a year you have to pay zakat annually. If you’ve a property which is in your malkiyat, you have to pay zakat, but here you’ve written someone has taken falsely and if it’s no more yours then there will be no zakat but if it comes to you then you have to calculate zakat when a year passes on it in your malkiyat. Hope that helps!
I watched the whole video and did not understand how to calculate zakat because he gave unnecessary examples. He should have just said if you have this much money altogether at the end of the year then take away a certain percentage of it and give it to charity. Can someone help pls Thanks I’m advance
Salamun'alaikum.. Solat and zakat, frequently mentioned together in Al-Quran so my calculation; Only people who solat is eligible to pay zakat and who is solat (obviously at masjid) is eligible to receive zakat.. POV, our head is so cheaper so do not cheap your pocket from jizyah and selected person will collect..insya ALLAH
"...If the camels are more than this, a she-camel in her fourth year is to be given for every fifty camels, and a she-camel in her third year is to be given for every forty camels...". This is just part of the hadith by Abu Dawood. So when and how did we choose this compering with 40 camels (which is calculated as 2,5 percent) over 50 camels?
Current assets Stock Cash Debtors Total current assets Less: Current liability Trade debt Loans falling one year Total current liability Total current assets - total current liability = working capital 2.5% on working capital Is zakat
No, it's not like a tax on salary, how many times they have to tell you, it is neccessary to pass 1 complete year in your possesion if one day is one year to you then Yes you can add to it
Brother we will buy home but right now we are staying in our brother house we have our business but our circumstances is not good because we try hard to buy a house I’ve some gold like under 5 Tola in which we buy 3 tola and I think two tola are gifts so what can I do please help ?
I have educational loan which was taken from Govt and I have been paying off slowly slowly. Right now I dont have any job due to the covid-19 pandemic and whatever cash i have at this stage are for coming days for daily maintenance such as family support. My wife has more than 85 gram gold from her wedding and she has some cash for her daily or monthly expenses. Given the scenario how should i can calculate Zakaat now?
Your wife can pay her zakat, but if you like you can pay for her. If the amount of gold is above the level to pay zakat but she doesn't have money then she can sell small part of the gold to pay zakat with it. This is what i think i understood from watching these videos.
Bruh u got all this baggage and u thinking about zakat 👀 go help ur damn self first take care of your expensive and family first and whatever u can give just give .. its what comes from the heart is all that matters ..
If i have 100gm gold received as a gift Last year ,how can calculate on it should i compare today's value with the last year values and on that difference should I pay the zakat?
I have gold for which I’m paying zakat ..but 3 months b4 I received end of service money…now what should I do ? To pay zakat on all my total or only gold bcz money with me just for 3 months ???
I had studied islamic banking and as per my understanding you have to pay only for the portion of worth you have paid to bank. Not on outstanding payments. So divide full worth of house in 2 portions. 1 bank (ur outstanding) 2 your ownership (u've already paid). Then add this 2nd portion of worth in zakat calculation. But still I will recommended you to confirm from a mufti bcz I am not a mufti.
My question to Dr. Zakir Naik ,About Zakat, Sir, Zakat is one of our 5 pillars, of Islam and it is depend on a person who has money, jewelry and properties and a certain amount, they have to calculate and pay every year end, Is it only for muslins, why not for none Muslims? And again wealthy people, are they paying Zakat, according the Quran's polices?. I believed no one paying right amount of money, what they suppose to pay. It could be an option for them, and there isn't any restricted rules for the Zakat and donators. Why we Shouldn't collect taxes for monthly basis, people from working and none working income, means social assistance people. it must be a restricted rules for every one, they must pay the government tax, Instead of paying Zakat, because zakat isn't enough for all poor Muslims only once a year. If tax rules being activate, then there are many other pay rules can be joined process and fed-up all across world's the poor people, no doubt about it. Tax amount will be Haier then zakat. Written by (ADAM) J.A
"why not for none Muslims?" They have nothing to do with Afterlife so that will not be any benefit for non-muslims if they give zakat or not "wealthy people, are they paying Zakat, according the Quran's polices?" They need to pay zakat as it is ordered to pay, if someone does not pay, they cannot avoid standing beforetheir God, so if someone is not paying zakat, it is as like if he/she is not worship salaah or similar and it is enforcable under Islamic Court "Why we Shouldn't collect taxes for monthly basis" Because it's not us to decide if zakar should be paid this way or that way, this is the order of God so it is as it is "because zakat isn't enough for all poor Muslims only once a year" It's more than enough if all wealthy muslims pay it properly, you will hardly find someone poor who is eligible for zakat if they pay proper zakat amount
Our family paid zakat every year and we didn’t get more money but we got even more poor and the year after that and year after that we are being poorer not poorer but some of our wealth is decreasing not increasing I ask other is it going the same with you I don’t know why this is happening?
maybe you calculated it wrong way things that are eligible for zakat, 1. you have some extra cash that you have not used 2. you have some gold in your possesion 3. you have some silver in your possesion 4. any amount that you have invested in your business 5. Unused property that you have not used for 1 year after any of these is eligible for zakat, you only have to take 2.5% of that thing, so tell me how it making your poor and poorer
Please We would like Zakat fatwah payment under spacial circumstance like current epidemic quarantine i would like to know please weather it will be considered ZAKAT still shall it payed after the time Allah said pay it out or it will be considered charity?! ,For example : in The occasion of Eid of sacrificing if it past the first 7 days after the occasion and the person slughtered the sheep it considered as feast of food charity not ODHIA(Sheep sacrifice) i wounder if same applies on Zakat fareeda (obligation) , since it is not allowed for ZAKAT collecters or a person to reach zakat giver or to deliver it to zakats worthy people .
I used to do a halal job and from the salary i opened term deposit in islamic bank. Later i got a long term sickness, quit my job and now meeting my basic needs using the entire profit I earn from the term deposit. If i give zakat on the term deposit, the profit each month will go down below my minimum basic requirement. Do i still have to pay zakat on the term deposit amount? Kindly let me know. I'm very confused about it, not finding any proper guideline from internet.
Thank you Brother for thanking a time to answer my question. I will look forward in order to understand it better. Assalamu alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatu
I am house wife and i have a gold by given by my parents and from husband(mehar) should i give zakath or my hus should give zakath. he (huz)has no zakat for anything else.
I don't wanna be bossy but I think there is a little mistake at the end when he say that you have to include the money you lent to somebody in the grand total and then calculate zakat on it so if that's the case why would somebody lend interested-free money to anyone while on the other hand he can invest that money in the business and earn some profit on it in-order to pay zakat and the value is not decreased i think zakat apply to your current holdings, not include what you have lent because when you lend to someone (it is qarz e hasana) (means you have invested it with allah) so how could you practically need to pay zakat on the money that's not in your use.
Please can someone tell me if i have 500k in 1st ramdhan and next year till ramdhan i have only 100k so how can i calculate my zakat please help on this if i have 500k on 1st ramdan and we used the amount and next year 1st ramdhan i have only 100k i spend 400k in between year so how do i calculate my zakah i will pay zakat on 500k or which money left in mu saving 100k
AsSalamalaikum, Sir should I pay zakaat even its below the nisaab level. In this case do I need to take the gold and silver market value and if that value reaches the silver nisaab level, should I pay zakkat. Eg: 55 grams gold, 250 gram silver. (one year passed).
Which is the Islamic month to start with? Just put 2.5% or whatever in a jar every month or in an account in a notebook (to make it easier so you don't have money lying around) I wish I had 100000 dollars 😂
What if I have gold more than what comes under Zakat to mandatory , and I m.completely financially dependent on my husband. And my husband has debt , I don't have any other source of income, then what will be my obligation on paying Zakat on my gold
Basit bhai 100000 per aapko sirf 2500r rupya dena hai and this 2500 hundred will not affect your saving.agar 10 lakh hai to 25000 in sha Allah usme barakat hogi mere khayal se.
Salam brothers and sisters, i have a question. is the amount that you give has to be sitting in saving for 1 year or what ever the amount is in savings after 1 lunar cycle as Dr zakir Naik just mentioned ?

From what I understand, zakat is for what you possess, in the name of parents for them to have sawab give sadka, which can be in the form of feeding poor, helping financially or donations to masjid or madrasa which will be a sadka-e-zariya for them. Even if you remain pious & pray for their magfirah & seek forgiveness for them is helpful to them.
it depends what you think of surplus is... according to allah, all savings are surplus so what are you going to do? pay 100% savings in zakat? allah do not ask for 100% but 2.5% Allah don't like it if a person is sitting on huge pile of savings and another one is dying for 1 time meal don't think you can outsmart your Lord
A/w if we posses amount of Rs X at end of hijri calendar and we have loan burden of Rs Y (where Y>X) then how to calculate zakaat. And next question link with same if we posses amount of Rs X at end of hijri calendar and we have loan burden of Rs Y (where Y>X) but this loan i have to pay on emi basis then how to calculate zakaat amount........Aslam Fahmi
In the first case, the person should pay the amount of possesion in loan, so he will no more be eligible for paying zakat in second case where the person can not pay loan at once, the portion of loan will be deducted from eligible wealth and after that if it is exceeding the amount of eligibility, you will have to pay zakat
