i think english making sense for ten and yangyang to speak together is because as foreigners is because its the one common language they both are pretty much fluent in? so they are used to just speaking it together i'd imagine
Nice reaction!!! Yes, yangyang is like the official polyglot of the whole NCT. I think he's naturally gifted lol as a fun fact, his korean has improved sooooooo much, very fast, and he actually has a very natural accent compared to other wayv members! Ten is also another polyglot. He and yangyang are pretty fluent in english because they went international schools. Another member who is very good at english is xiaojun!!
Watching their livestreams is honestly fascinating (for me at least) cause the way they just switch between all the languages and carry on the conversation like it’s nothing is impressive
Watching WayV members during livestreams is WILD. The more members present, the more quickly they flip between languages. It's fascinating. It's not out of the ordinary for 1 member to say a sentence in 2 languages and then another reply in a 3rd language and no one questions it. I really feel for the people who sub WayV lives because they have to know like 6 languages. Yes WayV does have dorm pets. They have 2 cats Louis and Leon, and a dog named Bella. Though they recently moved and are now in 2 separate dorms so Bella is separated from the cats. 8:24, yes YangYang is good at english. He lived in Germany for about 6 years prior to moving to Korea so he learned German and English there. Lucas is hilarious. I think what makes him great is that he's not afraid to speak. Even if he doesn't know the language well, he'll just string words he knows together and let it out.
Yes, thank you! NCT, and especially WayV, are so interesting to watch when it comes to languages. There are so many languages floating between them all, it's impressive how good everyone is at all the languages. Yangyang and Ten are actually right on par with the amount of languages they know. They both know Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese and English, but whereas Yangyang is more skilled in German and some Spanish, Ten is skilled in Thai and Japanese so it evens out. All of them work so hard learning and practicing languages, I couldn't imagine being in their place. That's part of the beauty of NCT though! True. I'm learning Korean, and I learned a little Spanish. Now, it takes me a while to think of a word in English because I can only think of the Spanish or Korean word for it. Lol
I speak 2 languages fluently, and I know some German and a little Korean and my brain is already a mess. I mostly use English and it's so hard for me to switch back to my native tongue instantly, so I feel like a foreigner half the time lmao

yangyang grew up in germany, and its pretty commonplace to learn eng throughout many european countries which explains why his english is so good! he also has a german accent when he speaks English lol ten went to a british international school in thailand (i could be wrong about the british part, but he def went to an international school) so he’s very fluent/comfortable in english as well. this probably explains why english is the most comfortable language for yangyang and ten to use with each other, as it’s the only language they have in common that they were already comfort me using prior to their careers
I can feel YangYang sm. Sometimes I think in English and sometimes in Tagalog. It depends upon the situation I guess. I speak 3 languages I tend to mix them up and I get confused too sometimes. It's also depends who's I'm talking with bc we're basically using 3 diff. Languages at home. It's a multilingual problems lol.
it's like they literally have their own Wayv language!! They're all so talented!! Also, yangyang stayed in Germany for a few years and went to school there so he ended up having to learn German, Spanish since that was a choice in school and English too of course. So that's why he's very fluent in English! Even though he might not use German or Spanish very often it's really impressive how he knows so many languages. Ten is another example of a language genius. His nationality is thai and he grew up in Thailand so he is fluent in both thai and chinese! (since his ethnicity is Chinese) other than that, having attended an international school, ten speaks fluent English and he also learnt Korean and Japanese! the members are always helping each other out with languages tho, it's so cute❤️
Ten is fluent in Mandarin because the company debuted him in Chinese unit not because of his ethnicity. He learned from the very beginning as he knew nothing about the language and the culture. He had a teacher to help him and the members also participated on helping him.
*YangYang* speaks 5 and *Ten* 5 languages as well. YangYang knows a little bit of Spanish and Ten a little bit of Japanese and he's studying it at the moment. So yes *Ten and YangYang* are the ones who speak most languages in WayV :)
I'm not sure but I think Lucas also speaks Thai cause he's half Thai, and in that clip it looked like he was understanding what Ten was saying. The reason Hendery said "It was in German" to Yangyang when he was reading Spanish is because he knows that German is another language that Yangyang is fluent in because he lived in Germany for a long time, so he assumed it was the language he knew not realizing that Yangyang also knew some Spanish. :P It's a lot to keep track in your head, sometimes I get frustrated with how much you forget but then I realize that you're just new and learning and it's not that big a deal. Yangyang is Taiwanese, but he used live in German when he was 11 and he spend about 6 years there right before he joined SMent. When he was in Germany, he went to international school that’s why he fluent in english. Of course he can speak german bcs he lived there and spanish bcs he choose spanish class other than french
@@blinktwice4541 If you're counting years, he technically "grew up" in Taiwan. He spent 11 years (all his early childhood there) vs the 5-6 years he spent in Germany. That doesn't make him German. He still holds Taiwanese citizenship.
I am a native Spanish speaker and I'm also half German, but most of the content I watch and search on the internet is in English so sometimes I forget certain word in my own language bc I've been either talking in German to my dad or watching RU-vid in English 😅 also I can only talk in German, I cannot write in it at all
YangYang lived in Germany for quite some times that's why he's multilingual. Ten and Yang Yang are comfortable speaking in English because even though Ten is Chinese ethnically(Thai nationality), he had to learn chinese(mandarin) from basic because Thai is his mother tongue. Lucas on the other hand, he knows a little bit of basic Thai because his mom is Thai, but he mostly speaks Cantonese as he was raised and born in Hong Kong. Since he's been living with WayV boys, he speaks more Mandarin now, I suppose.
Actually Lucas is fluent in Mandarin. He is a regular MC for a Chinese show Keep Running. He still makes mistakes sometimes but his Mandarin is amazing given he only had 5 years to learn it. His Korean is really good too.
@@irina6748 I really don't know how good Lucas is in his mandarin because I myself is not a Chinese speaker. Tq for sharing the info. But I do feel like Lucas is a bit hesitant about his Korean compared to other chinese members considering he's always mumbling for words and sometimes seems like he's lost in translation. I remember how SuperM hyung lines said Lucas is very candid about his Korean expression, that he is often forgiven and get away with it.
@@thething1975 I know what you mean. It’s hard to judge based on the videos that we see. However, many of the Lucas’ vlogs on WayV channel are partially in Korean, and he seems a lot more comfortable speaking the language. I am multilingual myself and I am so impressed with his progress. He seems to be able to communicate and express himself in 5 languages (of course at various levels), but let’s not forget that he is an artist and entertainer, and not a language/linguistic major. He’s seriously amazing!
Thank you for this reaction. All WayV boys are impressive at languages, but I really need to say I am so impressed with Lucas. So many people make fun of him because of the way he talks, that one fan had enough and made a video called “Lucas being a multilingual king” or something like that. His first language is Cantonese. He learned Korean and Mandarin in the last 5 years or so, while he’s been living in Korea. His Mandarin is fantastic, he is practically fluent. He’s a MC for one of the biggest Chinese TV shows, Keep Running. His Korean is very good too. Many people say that Lucas speaks very well Korean off camera, but in front of the camera he gets nervous. He also speaks quite well Thai (he’s half Thai) and English. There are many videos of Lucas speaking Thai and English to his fans. Also he has a fantastic pronunciation and speaks grammatically correct in English. I wish people would start appreciating how hard it is for Lucas to use 5 languages on daily basis and stop treating him as a clown.
Just an unnecessary information, Yangyang had been in Germany during middle and high school so he could speak Germen really well and Ten is Thai, that’s why Ten could speak Thai lol
Yangyang is Chinese born in Germany, and he speaks English, Korean, Chinese, German and learned Spanish. My boy a whole ass dictionary like Ten and Lucas who are Thai and Chinese.
