It’s very unlikely they’re not gonna push some political and social agenda. Which is crazy because people on the left trying to push social agendas is 100% The reason Hogwarts Legacy was the best selling game last year.
Man,Harry Potter is literally my drug. I need more and more of the movies, series, books, games and everything that has to do with this beautiful magical world. First time i saw a h.p movie i was like 6 years old. (i'm 26 now). I wanna thank J.K Rowling for existing.
I know a lot of people are not so excited for this reboot but as somebody who's a big fan of the books I'm pretty excited as a lot of people don't understand that it's not adapting the movie is adapting the books that the movies missed out
Yeah, I'm remaining optimistic! And I agree, I'm not looking for it to replace the movies. Just give us a different look - and hopefully a more in-depth one - at the story of Harry Potter.
@@RetroRaconteur exactly and also hopefully them to get Ron's character right that's the biggest thing I want for the reboot is get his character right don't get me wrong the actor of Ron in the movies did a fantastic job it was the script that got it wrong and gave most of Ron's best lines to Hermione
@@Max-eu9fpSassy Harry and better Ginny too! Less likeable Snape, Less rigid Dumbledore, more vulnerable Hermione rather than miss perfect. I could go on 😅 Overall, everyone has a lot more flaws and they are meaner at times. The movies took all that away and made it less relatable as a consequence.
@@damgful exactly especially sassy Harry which yes they showed a bit of that in the movies but he was a lot more sassy in the books and also especially Hermione and I hope they actually have Harry and Ginny have chemistry together in the show unlike in the movie where it was just so awkward where I had to look away
People are talking shit about this but I’m gonna say I’m excited because JK Rowling is involved and she will literally be able to make it as exactly as it was intended.
No, she won’t lol she literally said Hermione is black and has always been and she literally says she’s white in the book. No, she will definitely change things for social reasons which is not a good thing.
@@jessejive117 Not to mention Book Dumbledore made it feels like he was close friends with Grindelwald only toreveal they were gay when Gay Marriage seem to be open.
@@jessejive117 color drain, pale, white - the context of those in the books could be considered relative to their normal face. Black people can look paler or 'whiter' than normal in a color drained from face scenario. Hermione's hair could also describe hair more common to black people. I think it's so strange that the race stuff matters this much to people. You created an image of Hermione in your mind and had the bias of Emma Thompson being white which made you think Hermione can only be white. Hermione's family tree of her ancestors doesn't matter like it might be important for, say, the Malfoy family.
I always wanted to see a more in-depth depiction of the schoolyear, like classes and common rooms. Also, I hope they do an episode per season that is just a full-on Quidditch match.
@@SuperPrestogamer But Young Sheldon is of 20 minutes/episode and I think HP should be 50-60 mins/episode. So like ig a season would cover about 9-10 episodes, like stranger things.
I think this series should have been animated like Avatar the Last Airbender (original series). It would have allowed them to worry less about casting not to mention the cast aging wouldn't be a concern. If the cast got too old, they could recast. Recasting the characters between seasons could also be an option for live action but I don't see this being something a tv series would do. I really thing animation would have been the best option for the show for the reasons I already said and also because the character designs could easily be made book accurate, and it would allow for longer seasons. Either way, I really want to see a book accurate adaptation. I love the movies, but I know there are multiple deviations and so much that was left out. I look forward to seeing what else comes out of Harry Potter, but I hope it's better than the Fantastic Beast movies.
In anticipation of the reboot, I am overwhelmed with excitement. It still has the potential to be a great thing, even if it lets me down. I'm hopeful that it will turn out well. I'm excited to see the characters, the storylines, and the music.
Yeah after seeing one piece live action and knowing the creator helped a lot it definitely made a difference compared to ATLA where creators left early on in the project....the best 2 ep of atla netflix adaptation is the 2 ep that they helped in.
I’m so excited for this series, so many possibilities. 🦁🦅🦡🐍 There was so much left out of the movies. Hope they include those things this time: - Harrys sarcasm, like it was in the books - Ron as the most knowing of everything in the wizarding world, and street-smart - Hermione with positive and negative character traits (not too perfect) - Ginny was much better in the books - more of the Dursleys (books 4+6 especially) - life in Hogwarts (house-elves, kitchens, teachers staff rooms) - Sirius and Lupin (and generally the Marauders) - including missing characters (Charlie, Winky, Peeves - Ludo Bagman and Bertha Jorkins) - more of Diagon Alley - basically everything from book 4 (Rita Skeeter being an animagus + Hermiones SPEW + the maze + Harry giving his winnings to the twins) - more quidditch - more Luna Lovegood - more Harry and Cho (that Valentines Date was hilarious) - Bill+Fleur and Tonks+Remus - Regulus Blacks story - Percy and his redemption - Azkaban(Sirius breaking out, Bellatrix) - maybe they can add storylines from characters of the order of the phoenix (Tonks and Mad-Eye in the auror offices, Lupin with the werewolves, Hagrid and Olympe with the gigants)
Agreed 100%. Honestly, what's their fear by sanitizing all the characters in the movies? I hate how all of them sort of become caricatures rather than fleshed out imperfect, relatable people. Maybe they think we won't like them if they show negative traits, but I find that deeply insulting.
I pray that they do not ruin it like they did the rings of power. Stick to the books. Have one season per book. Don't add unnecessary real world problems to it. Go in depth a little more than the movies had time to and it should work out.
I hate how Hollywood just reboots or retells the same stories. Why wouldn’t they tell a new story in the Harry Potter universe? It’s such a rich world for storytelling. They are truly missing out on a huge opportunity here.
They aren’t just retelling the same story lol the films left out so much from the books and they’re going to tell all of that. No TV show is a great idea actually and you’re in the minority to say it’s not. They already told new stories and 100%. Those movies were awful. I’d still like to hear new stories in the future, but this is not an example of Hollywood just retell the same story.
I'm still heartbroken over what happened with the Fantastic Beast series. I got really invested in that story, only to see it destroyed and discarded by the studio. Well, a faithful and detailed adaptation of the books sounds good. As long as they really make it their priority instead of attempting to appeal to as many people as possible. That was a particularly big problem with the last instalments.
Yea, fantastic beasts was just plagued with too many issues and drama. Hopefully they avoid casting big names and get unknown acting talent. This could be a big break for a lot of actors if it's done well.
I have high hopes this will do well. I was disappointed with avatar the last airbender video game that came out also the netflix adaptation was average. Meanwhile Hogwarts Legacy was a great game. I am hoping the TV show will be great because they did great so far...
@@RetroRaconteur Animation is great, the CGI for places is great, Acting is okay but the direction changes from the original series were questionable. Like some changes were really bad. Some stuff from s2 was mixed with s1. Imagine if they mixed parts of one book from harry potter with another book. Which doesn't seem bad...but imagine if the first movie of harry potter where harmonie gets attacked by the troll and Luna Lovegood goes in to save Harmonie. It throws it off... because you have to change other things.
Hogwarts Legacy has shown that the green screen work will be epic. The improvements in CGI will show us dragons, spells, battle scenes, Hogwarts Castle. Done properly this could stupendous.
Circa third fantastic beasts film, i thought there should be an HP tv series. 7 seasons, 7 eps per season, but the eps need to be columbo length. Proper 90+ mins without ads. Canon to the books. 49 eps + 2hr special to wrap up series. 50 eps total. Adrian monk would like the round #. Add all missing characters. Then, just like dc/marval, have the tv series running while a new set of film series is in theatres. 10 films that conclude with a wizarding WORLD war. Start them off light like the first two HP films, then they grow darker as the audience ages. Expand the wizarding world globally. A film in brazil with castelobruxo, the other two euro schools etc. Japan. Africa. Etc. A glimps of all known wizarding schools. I even had ideas. The first [light] film would be philosopher's stone meets billy madison. Hermione, the mistress of magic, pardons hagrid and gives him a certificate of completion/diploma for hogwarts, but hagrid chooses to go back to school to complete years 3-7. He's classmates with some of the children of Harry's schoolmates from the HP films. But also a malfoy/o'doyles rule dark wizard family who makes him suffer every year. The family has a weasley amount of kids. 2nd film a french wizard child creating a flubber type spell or charm that is weaponised in the 7th or 8th film. Have some of fluer's family working at beauxbaton. Or the french ministry of magic. 3rd film a teacher or german govt official whose whole family are dark wizards, but she/he is like sirius or andromeda. A good wizard who saves the day. 4th film, An african mistress of magic, who has a twin who's the headmistress of wagadou. See wandless magic. 5th film, the japanese school of magic, but also something reminiscent of covid where the flubber potion from 2nd film is manipulated and weaponized to cause some kind of dragon pox illness. By films 9&10, characters from all the preceding films form a justice league/avengers type group of super aurors to beat something worse than grindelwald and voldemort. Then a tv series like twilight zone/eerie indiana/are you afraid of the dark/tales from the crypt anthology series that will also be global and "woke"🙄😮💨 with a global cast. Sorry for typos, Long-windedness.
@@vengarlof7033 ??? Wtf are you talking about?? And yes Dumledore is black in the new cast. I thought we were going BOOK ACCURATE? It clearly says that Dumbldore was PALE.

HP is the best selling book series ever. It deserves much more than "decent" and definitely it can make a lot more money than it does now. HBO made the very successful "Game of Thrones" and "The Last of Us" which are book and video game adaptations so they proved more than once they can do it right.
Well people say that it's adapting the movies but it isn't the best way to think about it is it's adapting the books the movies and the books are honestly very different from each other a lot of characters personalities were switched or lines a lot of things were cut that were in the books so I think them making a show instead of a movie would make sense if they want to show off a lot more that were in the books for example the other quidditch matches there was a lot more in the books than what the movies showed
As a British person, I have to say the Daily Mail are well known for being absolute trash. So take anything you read from them with a tiny grain of salt.
😢😢 People dont want to see the same stuff agen. And the movies was very good and still holdes up. So no need for a reboot. But thay should exspend this amazing univers. Or what i want the most. Is a voldemort orgin story where we follow voldy life from his perspective. Than wee can get to see mutch of what we love and old and new characthers. And thay could do some marauders episode where we look at stuff from thare perspectiv. And ofcource hagrid, dumbledoor etc. The series could end whan HP got his scar. 😀
I just don't understand why they won't make a new story instead. I'd love to see Harry's kids go to hogwarts or any other story really. There is books for the details we didn't get in the movies.
I agree. Instead of going backwards to redo the whole series again, they could make a movie or series on the Marauders or Tom Riddle's past. To give more magic to the series. Why waste money on something that's already made? Yes the movies missed out alot but they were still amazing!! And the most important, the casting. I just wish they left what was made and just continue by adding more to the series. 😮💨
Hope there is no Woke politics in this series. Just keep true to the story and characters. Be more in depth than the films were able to do and close to the books, when possible, what worked in a book may not work in the series. Keep your personal agenda out of it. No gender or race swapping of main characters. You don't have to be the same race/gender to identify or have empathy with the main characters, follow the books. The films and books made billions for a reason. Unfortunately, some think they no better than the author, or have to prove their worth by making changes that are not in tone with the characters and story.
Get over it. If you can’t get past race or gender then just don’t watch it. I can careless as long the actors do a great job. “He’s going to sacrifice himself!” 😂
I would love to be able to get excited about this but I have zero confidence that they won't wokify this to oblivion. If they do, I will not be watching.
As long as they don’t race swap the characters and make dumbledore some gay black guy or some shit for the sake of “inclusion” I’ll give it a chance. I want them to stay true to the characters.
Dumbledore is already gay. Did you miss. That or intentionally being a troll. Also, who gives AF what race the actors are as long as they fit the role well
@@gemelwalters2942 If it goes against the books it actuall does matter lmao. If someone is described in the books as being white and they get a black actor to play the part, don't you think that goes against the entire premise of re doing this shit? Dumbledore being gay is one thing, but if they then make him black that would completely ruin the character and be fitted to just cater to the woke freaks. No thanks.
@@gemelwalters2942 they won’t “fit” the role if they aren’t accurate to what the characters are supposed to be. In order to fit the roles, the characters need to stay true to who they are. If they make Harry some Mexican or black guy, and Ginny an asian chick etc, how tf would that be them fitting the role when their characters are completely different? Your comment is dumb asf. Race matters in terms of accuracy of the characters etc. I’m sick and tired of them race swapping characters and turning them into shit they’re not all for the sake of “inclusion” they care more about being woke than accurate. Like who cares if we butcher the accuracy of the characters or make them completely different, as long as we have a gay guy, and a strong black woman that’s all that matters smh.
@@gemelwalters2942 also no dumbledore isn’t gay. He’s never with anyone at all throughout the entire books etc. He has no lover or interest in that stuff
@@hatchell18 it's a children's book, why would that be in it. His relationship seems very clear in the fantastic beasts films, of which JK Rowling is heavily involved. In the potter books we don't need it shoved in there because it's not about him. There's nothing wrong with Dumbledore being gay and we also don't need it being a focus of Harry's Story. Both can be true
@@Karshall- blame can be shared around. But at the end of the day, if the film makers focus is on making a politically correct film/tv show, and not on making a good film, then surely you can see the problem
@@dylcart8881 Here are some ideas to make it possible: 1. Record all his scenes when shooting Chamber of Secrets 2. Use good characterization to change his appearance 3. Use CGI. I believe it is vital to look the same in all the scenes when they're the same age to make the show more immersive. Same with Dumbledore leaving Harry at Privet Drive and Dumbledore talking to Snape about what happened in Godric's Hollow.
Bro by the time they film Half blood Prince, ai technology will be able render the whole thing in photo realistic graphics with a prompt.@@piotrnowak8725
@@propogandalf The race DOES matter! What would you say if they made a show set in the Congo and they race swapped major characters and made them white? You'd probably have a different opinion. It seems to only be acceptable to erase white people.
@propogandalf I will have to disappoint your wokeness, they don’t plan on creating a black hermione or an Indian Harry . In fact they have recently said they will keep the characters book accurate and jk Rowling is the executive producer overseeing everything. She’s over that bull.
I never understood what the interest in a live action Hogwarts Legacy adaptation is. Is it the characters and story? They seem very bland and boring to me. The only thing I feel could be interesting is the time period itself. But then again, if I wanted an old timey Hogwarts I'd rather see a series about the Founders, granted, that's way further in the past. Victorian Era Hogwarts does sound pretty cool though.
Game of Thrones prequels didn't come out before the main series. I see no reason why introduce these stories to the people who didn't and are not planning to read the books before the main series. It makes more sense to release The Marauders miniseries shortly after 3rd or 5th season.
He would, if they give American actors a chance this time. They may keep it an all British cast again though. Either way, I'm sure they'll pick someone good for the role.
Would it be possible to have the original golden trio and a few other main characters appear on a cameo at certain times during the season with all of the originals at the end of the tenth season appearing
If they F***k this up with race swapping, forced inclusivity, lazy writing and whatever the hell else has made most big budget movies/series of the past half decade so terrible, I'm not even going to finish this reboots trailer.
All I hope for with this show is that it can be faithful to the books, but make it stand apart from the films with the production and costume design, and have a different Hogwarts as well. I do hope we get a full blown Wizarding World TV Universe, akin to what Taylor Sheridan is doing with Yellowstone.
Yeah I saw another rumor that they were going to use a lot of the same sets and the same castle, as well as some of John Williams' music. But of course, nothing confirmed on that yet.
@@RetroRaconteur That would be problematic. That would just make people compare the show to the films even more. Of course, this is just a rumour, so.....
@@lukebaxter3252 honestly I think that's a bad idea they should use their own idea instead of using the same idea and I think is I'm scared for the child actors to play the characters because of on how the internet is those poor children are going to get threats
@@lukebaxter3252 on the other hand I feel like if they changed Hogwarts TOO much this could also be problematic. It might not even feel like Hogwarts. So I think it’s okay to use some of the same sets/castle locations, and hopefully making it more book accurate.
@@BamSandle I'm not suggesting they change too much, just enough that it can help make the show stand on its own. For example, it would be nice if there was a book accurate Entrance Hall, especially with the type of floor.
I just hope they do spells right this time. For me the biggest let down of the fantastic beasts was all the combat being just swishy no pronunciation of spells. It didnt FEEL like the same harry potter world due to the vast difference in how spells were portrayed. Duels should be like chamber of secrets, bring the magic back without basic telekinetic laser fighting
I'm no expert but I'm fairly sure advanced wizards don't have to use the spell names. Even in the film, when Dumbledore fought Voldemorte they didn't do that. It's mostly the kids who do it and that makes sense. In fantastic beasts, obviously we're following adults as well. I can see the rationale behind not doing it but I also understand your point, the words add a sort of flair to it that differenciates the Potterverse from other magics.
Honestly I wish Americans would stop stealing things from England Harry Potter is ours let us keep it and also I swear if this show is American Harry potter I'll be so annoyed
I'm excited for the TV Show as everyone is gong to say what about the movie, try and find another childern that fit the charactes along with adults that could fit the characters becuase you wouldn't be replace the greatest and late Alan Rickman as Snape
I really appreciate seeing people in this comment section already voicing the fact that there CANNOT be a single ounce of an agenda of IDENTITY POLITICS in this show at all for it to be even somewhat successful, worth-while or genuinely have integrity in regards to the books its based on.

Marauders as a prequel movie trilogy, then this tv series and Finally a prologue set of movies with original now adult cast as movies after the series ends…. Money money money, as long as they can’t refrain from agendaizing it, and messing the whole thing up with a lousy casting…
