This poem I have wanted to turn into film ever since I saw a friend's forum signature "A lonely impulse of delight drove to this tumult in the clouds" but my usual flight sim, IL2, did not have World War I scenarios. Now, with the visually stunning flight sim, Rise of Flight, this finally became a possibility.

Hi Russell, Congratulations for such nice touching and moving videos! I am a Veteran, flew many combat missions, saw the horror of war (but not to the extent of the two World Wars) and the combat, destruction, loss of life, etc... bring a lot of pain in my heart. But I must say that your videos, deal with these terrible issues with sensitivity and most of all, respect for the Veterans and the victims of these conflicts (regardless of allegiance). You have a lot of talent, my hat and my respect to you for your work, Peace be with you, L

Thanks L, that means a lot. I come from a community of enthusiasts and between us we have tried to retell some of the stories with respect. We created a website of all the best of these amateur films flightsimmachinima.blogspot.co.uk/ There are a few simple action films in there, but if you want to see more of the story based ones have a look at Svengali, Never Surrender, Star of Altoona, I Flew for the Führer, Arctic Warriors, Shoulder to Shoulder, Desert Dogfighter, Against the Odds and the all time classic Faith Hope and Charity (to name just a few)

Magnificent! Simple, yet incredibly moving. The key to a great FlightSim movie (any movie) is to bring out emotion, the human factor. This very short work of art stands alongside the famed "Requiem" as a masterpiece. S!
