Riding a WC train in August of 1990 when the old Soo Line route through Oshkosh was in use. Starting at the north end of town see the street running, go over the bridge, and down to the station.
I was four years old when this was taken. I'm sorry I never got to see such an interesting piece of railroading in my home state for myself, but I'm glad it was so well-documented!
I'm amazed how old and a bet run down some of the city looks in this film. Glad to see that the city in general looks better now. Keep up the good work Oshkosh.
I remember this stretch of track well -- went to school in this town in the 70's. The former station was right in the heart of the downtown on that sharp curve to the right -- relocated to the south side of town (seen at end of video). We pass the interchange with the CNW just before curving left to cross the Fox River Bridge, and what is left of the connection with the MILW on the far side of the bridge (mostly removed by this time). Was SOO before it was WC. Lot of great memories here.
