Did you know Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Waterways Conservation Officers are trained to capture and relocate venomous snakes?
Most snakes in Pennsylvania are harmless, so it's usually best just to let the animal move on. But if the snake is making a loud buzzing or rattling noise, it’s likely a venomous Timber Rattlesnake. Timber Rattlesnakes have a wide head and narrow neck, a distinct V-shaped cross-band pattern on their back, and rattler on their tail.
If you encounter a Timber Rattlesnake on your property and want it removed, document the location and call the nearest PFBC law enforcement region office. A WCO will be dispatched to your residence to capture the snake and relocate it unharmed in a secluded, wooded area.
