Hello everybody and welcome to another software review from WCS. I am excited to review for you, one out of the ten new soaps in the WCS lineup. Their new “Barbershop” shave soap is a new tallow based formula soap made by Peter Charkalis of Arianna & Evans made exclusively for WCS. This take on the classic Barbershop has scent notes of citrus, talc, florals, musk, and to my nose a bit of leather. Scent strength is about a six out of the tub and goes to a seven once lathered. Loading the brush was very easy to do, I would recommend not overloading because getting that consistency would take some time since this soap is mighty thirsty.
The lather is very thick, but once dialed in it will be slick and have a consistency of sleek paint depending how you like your lather. Slickness is off the charts and residual slickness is more than enough for buffer passes. To sum it up I am very excited to see the brand new lineup from WCS and to have ten other scents to choose from makes it all, but sweeter. If you are in the market for a new soap or just new to wet shaving this soap base just might be your best starting point.
