CHAPTER 3: A wild cat encounter MOON would finally reach the forest, the fresh scent of mice and grass warmed her nostrils. Moon lifted her head and looked around at the greenery. “This place is kinda bigger then I thought..” she meowed, thinking if she should go back to her two-legs house. A low growl was heard far in the distance, Moon’s eyes narrowed as she crouched down to the forest floor. Slowly, she creeped up onto what was making the noise. Her ears Immediately pinned back as she shrouded in fear. A large cat was, what looked like to Moon, fighting a smaller cat. Moon instantly regretted her decision of coming into the forest and ran backwards. The noise had alerted the 2 wild cats as they bolted after who they thought was an intruder. MOON’s breath had gone heavy as she could hear the paw steps of the 2 other cats behind her, breathing down her neck. Just then, the large cat had leaped over her to stop Moon in her tracks. The smaller cat stopping behind her as the bigger cat had looked her right in her eyes. MOON’s tail cowered under her body, she had no chance of survival after this. “Ash’paw. Don’t move.” Hissed the large Tom. ‘ so that cat is called ash’paw? ‘ Moon wondered in her mind, looking back at the small cat. “Well, what’s another cat doing in OUR territory?” Questioned the Tom, his neck dipped lower to reach moon’s eye site completely. “I-Uhm..” Moon tried to speak, but the presence of this cat had made her mouth want to stay shut. “Be easy on the little one.” Another voice had meowed from a bush. A white and sleek she-cat had appeared from the forest coverage. “This cat is no harm.” Spoke the white cat, their blue eyes looked into moon’s. ‘These are the wild and vicious cats Flame was talking about..?’ Moon had pondered, her eye site constantly changing to the 3 cats. “Well how do you know that, Winter’wind?” Questioned the larger tom, his maw filled with sharp teeth. “I know because this one has come from a two-leg nest.” Winter’wind had snapped back, her tail flicked uncomfortably. “So this is a KITTYPET?” Ash’paw covered his muzzle with a paw, his gaze fixed on Moon. “Yes, Ash’paw. This is a kittypet.” Meowed Winter’wind. “Now, Dark’feather. You may take your apprentice back to camp, I will deal with this.” Winter’wind ordered the large tom. “Yes, winter’wind.” Dark’feather meowed, dipping his head. “Let’s go back. Honey’fang said she needed me after training.” He would meow harshly to Ash’paw. Moon watched as the 2 cats disappeared into the shadows of the forest. “Now, what is your name?” The tall she would ask. “M-my name is Moon.” Moon’s voice would tremble at Winter’wind’s presence. “You have no reason to be scared. I know your no harm.” Winter’wind would assure Moon. “I didn’t mean to invade your territory! I just wanted to see what the forest was like!” Moon would confess, her head tilted to the ground. “You wanted to know what the forest was like?” Winter’wind laughed, but her gaze fixed back onto Moon. “I know what it’s like. I can let you into my clan with Amber’star’s permission.” Winter’wind would meow, letting out more information from their voice. “Let me join your clan?” Moon would tilt her head. “You surely would know about the 4 clans who live in the forest. Right?” Winter’wind would say, sitting down. “Well, I don’t know much but-“ Moon was cut off “if you don’t know, I could teach you a thing or two in my clan, Earthclan.” Winter’wind meowed.
