This is the open and close from a 1972 episode of the WCVB-TV children's program "Jabberwocky." The series was produced and syndicated by the Boston station for many years. This particular video was recorded only a few months after the new Channel 5 signed on the air.
The open animation by created on film in-house by WCVB. The theme music was composed by jingle writer David Lucas.
All rights are acknowledged.

I grew up in Brockton MA, and was 12 when this show aired. If anyone has clips of old Major Mudd shows from the '60s, please post them. There are a lot of his old fans here on RU-vid that would love to see them.

A little known fact about Jabberwocky theme song's writer, David Lucas: It was HE who suggested adding the cowbell for Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper"! LOL

Jabberwocky used to freak me out when it was on. But I'm glad that you were able to post this. Still hope that someone may find a clip of Five All Night Late at Night.

You guys did a great job on that show. I remember WCVB was very much into quality programming. I'm not surprised so many of this show's actors went on to greatr success. I loved Trina as a kid.

There are just a few good kids shows left for todays children to see, such as My Friend Rabbit on NBC, which is a very great show based off the childrens book of the same name.

I have had the theme song for this for six years at least, KIBO talked about it online but it was before RU-vid or online video sharing so I had not seen it before.

Didn't Mr. bgo on to doing movies and was in both Mrs. Doubtfire and Far and Away? Tucker Smallwood became a great actor doing part time roles on many famous TV shows such as Star TrekT TNG/DS9.

@marolda77 Contact Liz Cheng in the WCVB-TV Programming Department. There is a chance the station retained the episode in question. Receiving a copy would be another matter, however. Be prepared to pay for the service.
