FYI, the intro @ 4:04 was also used as an opening vamp on the game show "Jackpot" from 1974. If only I knew what the name of it was though. The tune at 5:15, however, was Syd Dale's 'News Views,' which was also featured on an episode of "Spider-Man." Great finds so far.

I wasn't around for it when it first aired (born in 85), but the theme for the intros starting at around 5:33 are probably my favorite.

Yes. Keith had been at the station since the late '70s I believe, but served as lead sports anchor between Don Gillis' retirement and Mike Lynch's arrival.

Random fact: The balloon in some of the starting openers was last registered in Middlesex, MA. and its registration expired in 2011. (N54707)

then again, there are two phrases Ernie Anderson can do better than anyone else now or in the past: "The Love Boat" and "Eyewitness News". Same goes for "NewsCenter 5"...
