Can we talk about how objectively ugly the WCW's 2000's logo was? I know that it's supposed to be a space ship or something but the W's looked weirdly smushed and awkwardly shoved in the C.
2000 was just an odd time in general, especially for design. Everyone was trying to look futuristic and modern and apparently this is what WCW thought that is what it would look like. Little did they know, that the 90s look would be back in style and considered "retro" less then 20 years later.
@@justinfitzpatrick013 I always saw it as a "StarBurst"... it wasn't until some time Post 2015 that I saw a You Tube video out of the corner of my eye (i'd been listening to it as white noise) and it clicked as "wCw"
Good video. I watched a lot of wcw in its dying days as a preteen and even then I knew it was terrible, I was admiringly a fanboy and wanted wcw to be better than wwf so bad but even my adolescent brain could tell wcw was falling off. I remember watching the last Monday Nitro and being pretty bummed out. Once ECW went under I pretty much stopped caring about wrestling.
Man, you sound exactly like me! I was a major WCW fanboy who absolutely despised the fact that the WWF was able turn things around in their favor, in the Monday Night Wars. I kept watching, even though I knew WCW had gotten beyond horrible & were constantly copying the WWF. Cause I was holding out hope that they would start winning again. However, I never watched 2000 era WCW, mainly just heard about it from my brother, cause WCW in 1999, to me, at the time, was so terrible, that I completely quit watching mid year, & I didn't watch wrestling again, until 2007, when I discovered TNA. Now, I'm no longer watching wrestling, & from what I hear, I'm not missing much of anything!
@@brandonpage7087 my buddy invited me over for wm35 it was the first wrestling ppv I watched since probably 9th grade in high school lol, and it was alright, wasn't great, I fell asleep but it wasn't so much out of boredom of the show as much as boredom from sitting in the same chair watching the same show for sooo many hours... Eventually the pint of schnapps and chronic caught up with me and I dozed off with a good hour plus left on the card
the FFX music tho Norman was pretty fun tbh I loved Lance Storm Canadian Triple Crown I liked Kanyon giving Kanyon Cutters to people indiscriminately. Great comedy. Yea tho, 2000 was a trainwreck I'd still watch WCW 2000 over present day RAW tho lol
Vince “‘The Killer of Wrestling Companies” Russo never saw something good he didn’t take credit for. It showed you what a piss poor writer he was when he got to WCW. He made himself champion! Need I say more. Now he does nothing but lie and annoy people.
hahaha I legit just had a random thought about the comparison between 3 Count and 3MB right before I stumbled across this video so that last comment about a 3 Count/3MB dream match was spot on
This is a combination of 3 of my past videos..... hence me introducing myself 3 times. They were put together for convenience of the viewer. But by all means please show yourself out.
@@VI_V2 wasn't trying to be mean in anyway. Wasn't trying to come off angry in anyway. Wasn't trying to be a dick in anyway. Wasn't trying to be rude in anyway... Ya see how that is all repetitive? Same way I saw your video.
David Quinn again it’s a combination of 3 videos. Again it’s a compilation of 3 videos. Again it’s a compiled video of 3 different videos. Maybe the repetitive nature is good because you didn’t seem to process it when I said it once.
@@VI_V2 once again, want trying to offend you, just giving feedback. I did t even hit the dislike button. I usually love your channels material. Why put all three into one video though? Why not edit out the intros and endings? If you are trying to hit 10 min to get RU-vid money I get it. Just do something else than be repetitive and put cartoon clips in for added time. And p.s. I didnt unsubscribe. I took a deep breath and gathered my feelings. I really do love the content you normally put out. Just didn't like this one.
@@VI_V2 maybe I missed the other videos you put out that were combined. I watched and liked the doink video. And you said you were going to elaborate on him when you mentioned him and didn't. Just still confused with the collaboration of 3 videos into one without editing the intro out. You still could have had a 10 min video without it. I also get what u did with the spongebob cartoon, just seemed to 🐉 (get it) drag on. I'm gonna hit the like button just cause you responded and pinned me bud...
To be fair, Nitro had always used red and orange as it's colors... and Thunder was using blue as it's primary color years before Smackdown ever existed.
What I like most about the WCW 83 straight week ratings domination is how much it scared and scarred WWF/WWE. You still have WWE taking the occasional shot at WCW in commentary or when they upload a vid to their channel about crazy WCW stuff. WCW still haunts WWF, long after it went under, was bought, and all its major stars buried with only Booker somewhat recovering. WCW was ridiculous at the end of course, but it had the big names, the nWo, the luchadores, a decent tag division, a legitimate belt, the Goldberg streak, and just great stuff from Guerrero and Malenko and Jericho and Benoit and so forth. For a good while I loved it back in the day.
I agree that WCW copied WWE in 2000, but WWE was no stranger to copying WCW. The "Light Heavyweight" title was an obvious answer to the hugely popular WCW Cruiserweight title. The NWO was ripped off by the Nation of Domination (NOD) and even DX in its earliest days. DEMOLITION was their copy of The Road Warriors, and SMACKDOWN wasn't the original Thursday "BLUE" Brand, that was WCW THUNDER. Even the revered "ATTITUDE" era wasnt original. The edgier programming was first started by the rise of ECW and to some extent, the NWO.
DX Can Never Compare To The NWO. The NWO Would've Destroyed/Killed DX In WCW. The Nation Of Domination Are No Comparison To Half Of The NWO. The Nation Of Domination Was Little To No Comparison To NWO Hollywood. Just NWO Hollywood Would've Destroyed Both DX & The Nation Of Domination. Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall, Bret Hart, The Giant & Scott Norton Would've Taken Out The Nation Of Domination-The Giant For Mark Henry, Bret Hart For Owen Hart(R.I.P.), Scott Norton For The Nonbuilt/Nonmuscular 265-270 Pound Kama/The Godfather, And Hogan & Hall For The Rock & The 260 Pound Fat D'Lo Brown😀😀. And These NWO Hollywood Midcarders Would've Dominated DX; Scott Steiner, BrianAdam's, The Disciple & Vincent(For X Pac). DX Is Nothing. Imagine All 10 Of Those NWO Hollywood Wrestlers Destroying Both The Overrated DX & Overhyped Nation Of Domination. That Leaves NWO Wolfpack-Kevin Nash, Randy Savage, Lex Luger, Sting, Konnan, Curt Hennig & Rick Rude) & A Few More NWO Hollywood Midcarders. Then WCW Still Had Raven's Flock(With Big Reese 7'2" Tall) WCW Would've Dominated/Destroyed The WWE In 1998. All WCW Needed For Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Kane & Mick Foley, Were, Hollywood Hogan, Goldberg, The Giant, & Kevin Nash(Hogan Standing Next To Kevin Nash, Is 6'9"; That's Over 300 Pounds), Then During The Fall, WCW Could've Had Scott Hall For The Rock. For Midcarders Like Ken Shamrock, Test & The Bossman, WCW Had Midcarders the Same Size & Bigger-Van Hammer, Horace Hogan & Scott Norton. Then Bam Bam Bigelow Made His WCW Debut In 1998 & You Know The Other WCW Top Stars Weren't Going To Lose To Any WWE Midcarders. The More Remaining Top Stars Were, Sting, Lex Luger, Ric Flair, DDP, Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, Randy Savage & The Warrior.
@@allencollins1617 I can agree! The NWO acted like and somewhat became a rival league in storyline to WCW, but in reality it was a rival to WWF(E). The "Attitude era" was a direct response to this. Though Vince and company fail to mention this, explaining this as an "original" idea. Once in a while they credit ECW, but never their primary rivals, WCW.
WRONG! Norman Smiley did NOT copy Crash Holly! In November of 1999, Norman Smiley became the inaugural WCW Hardcore Champion while Crash Holly became the WWF Hardcore Champion in February of 2000. So Crash copied Norman with the comedy antics within the hardcore division.
Exactly there's a lot of inaccuracies in this video Norman Smiley was way before Crash Holly in just like you said crash copied Norman smiley because if you think about it where you think they got the whole 24/7 idea from?
I loved wcw in 1999 and 2000 they were bringing young guys up that should been given a chance in 1997 and 1998 if they y have give Chris j and Chris b eddy q and the rest I give them a chance maybe wcw would have been still be around
I watches every episode of WCW 2000, in the year 2000. Live every week! It was amazing how bad it was, it was great. I use to tape Nitro, my friend would tape Raw, and next day we would swap. I still have his VHS tapes, and he has mine LOL.
Remember when Sting thought Nitro went off the air and used DX's catchphrase....i remember that too and have nothing better to offer the comment section than that memory.
@@JackSledgeIV yeah he got on the mic and said "we got two words for ya" and then pointed the Mic towards the crowd for.the "suck it" part. Right before nitro went off the air. I don't really remember many more datails other than those.
Wcw dying was staged. No way would a product get that bad intentionally. Just like they brought Hogan and bischoff in to kill TNA. It has never and will never recover.
@@michaelmacdonald880yeah it makes no sense why they would purposefully put on an awful show just for the sake of getting a tiny jab in at the WWF unless someone was intentionally trying to kill it, and if nobody was smart enough to see what was happening then they deserve what they got.
@@Perfection_Personified I Had no idea things were that bad In 2000. I stopped watching nitro in spring of 99 after the finger poke of doom and a united nwo made it ridiculous. Looking at all the evidence like a $5 million purchase for 50 million net worth. That sale in those terms was illegal as the time Warner share holders were not given return. Especially since bischoff tried to buy it for 40 million. And ECW folded at the same time? Only dedicated WWE marks think wcw dying wasn't staged. In my opinion it started with Goldberg losing and the finger poke of doom two weeks later.
There been so many awful gimmicks in WCW once Vince Russo buries it to the ground. But I thought the That’s 70s Guy (Mike Awesome) was an awesome bad gimmick.
so glad you didn't shit on 3count. CANT, GET YOU OUTTA MY HEART. P.S - does anyone remember the wrestlelicious version of the 3 count theme? "should of dropkicked you from the start"?
You know.....I subbed to this channel a few weeks back because it was one of the few left that was bold enough to still use actual footage and not just boring-ass pics in their vids. But after seeing this vid, it appears you have tapped out as well. smh Well at least there's still Wrestling With Wregret with balls....
@@VI_V2 Um...I never said I was unsubbing. I merely pointed out that the first 3 vids I saw of yours had footage and were great. This new one? Not so much....and I couldn't help but to wonder if the reason was that WWE was putting pressure on you to tone it down, like it's done to many other channels. Now if that's not the case, then say so. My mistake. But it would be a shame if someone calling themself the "social Injustice warrior" would let the unjust WWE push him around.
Maybe a Circle is an impostor oval trying too hard. Like, it’s an oval, but doesn’t want to acknowledge it. Hence it being an oval in math, but trying to hard to stand out. Makes you think.
All of this is correct...pushing the younger talent wasnt a bad idea...pushing every single guy they had who was younger and less established was a huge mistake...a handful should have been pushed...then more later...to start with...at 1st i woulda pushed jeff jarrett(nowhere as much as russo pushed him)...shane Douglas...buff bagwell...rey mysterio with his mask back...konnan...vampiro...kanyon(not as positively kanyon)and buff bagwell...let those guys find their footing mixing with guys like luger...sid...ddp...sting...nash..flair... goldberg...and then see how that worked and give guys like palimbo...stasiak...kidman...juventud....etc...time to prepare a shot at the main level or at least upper mid...but wcw was such a mess at that time i dunno if that coulda saved it...may have bought em some time...i have to admit i enjoyed the filthy animals....especially the original lineup...it wasnt as good when eddie guerrero jumped to wwe...and juventud came in and wasnt as good but i did like that faction
ROTFL!!! Finally, somebody else, besides me, remembers Buzzkill!!! Man, was that a shitty idea, & it was fucking hilarious, at the same time!!! I remember, I quit watching WCW, & wrestling altogether, after Buzzkill's debut. Though now, I wished I would've continued watching for a little longer.
Yeah the imposter full circle thingy, Kane impersonated Diesel, true, Luke Gallows imitated Kane, also true, but I VERY much doubt anyone would commit carer suicide by impersonating Luke 'warm at best' Gallows 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Man I have been listening to the Brian Vinny and Craig show about the Monday night wars and it's interesting to see the difference between one company on top of the world and another one constantly putting out dumb shit which would ultimately kill them
I'm gonna say it......WCW 2000 was fucking incredible. Scott Steiner coming out at random out his tits cutting promos on Ric Flair for no reason when they weren't even feuding was great.
Dude, u REALLY HAVE NO RIGHT TO WEAR A SLEEVELESS TEE-Shirt !!! Ya can NOT make fun of people on these videos while looking the way ya do in those shirts....just saying
