To quote Konnan: "Wanna know how tough Haku was? His cousin Barbarian told me that Haku was beating up MEN at 13yrs old. Thats all you need to know how tough he was."
"...And he's the nicest guy in the world...polite, friendly, loving, happy... then he would literally kill every one of us in a blink of an eye and there would be nothing we could do about it" -Perry Saturn
The guy was severely underrated in the ring, especially in his days as Haku, when he was part of The Islanders, then as King Haku etc. His work was brilliant at times. Also his hairdo as Meng was awesome, and the tongan death grip finisher too. Ahh memories.
Superb wrestler. He could do a lot of stuff...kicks were lethal...he always worked solid and well known as a seriously dangerous man if crossed. I always liked him as a kid, now I learn of his legacy as a 36 yr old I respect him even moreso.
Bischoff actually let Meng leave to the WWF with the WCW Hardcore Title in 2001 and ended that division soon after. Bischoff was too terrified to fire Meng.
hahaha right this guy took out like 5 guys by himself in a bar fight and took some eyes out this guy is definitely not a guy to fuck with thats why all the wrestlers left him alone. Don't get me wrong he's a very nice guy but you wouldn't want to get on his bad side
One of the most bad-ass and toughest man that's ever wrestled. I've heard so many stories about how he could legitimately fight and hurt people in real life. Everyone was afraid of him, so nobody dared to mess with him backstage.
Baddest and toughest man in wrestling history, once he bit off a man nose and ripped off someone else eyeball with his bear hand . One tough sob and hall of fame worthy.
Imagine him and Barbarian in any WWE 2K game and they come out as Faces of Fear, and Meng speaking Tongan, that would be dope!! I always loved this theme
Karen (yelling at management about whatever) Manager: You will have to talk to guest services (Guest services door opens and smoke pours out) Video starts. Just picture Meng working someplace dressed like he is in the video thumbnail but has a tie and his name tag onXD Who's going to tell him that he isn't following the dress code?
Meng was nothing to fuck with in real life. ric flair said dude bit off a bartender's NOSE!! All my pacific islander friends are tough as nails like that too
IF I was younger and aspiring to become a professional wrestler I would ask the late Harley Race and William Regal to be my coaches and Haku/Meng to be my gateway opponent to truly break me into the business. Scale of 1-10 how hard would those 3 men put me through the ringer?
My favorite story of Meng was a bunch of the guys were in a bar & some guy told Meng wrestling was fake or something so Meng reached in the guys mouth & ripped his front teeth out!
Meng looked like he was straight out of Mortal Kombat. And I'm not talking about Mortis and Glacier who looked like they were cosplaying Mortal Kombat characters. No, Meng looked like he was literally coming out of a portal from the actual Mortal Kombat tournament lol.
Meng was bad news. Lots of people say he was the scariest guy in the ring to face. The first time I ever saw him I was I think 6 or 7 years old on my birthday in 1997 on the PPV known as Slamboree he had an awesome but scary match against Christ Benoit it was a death match. Who also remembers that match? I’m curious.
Jason Kreitzer Yes that was the re match. Their first match was at Slamboree that year. Meng won. Then at the following PPV they fought again at the Great American bash. Benoit won that time. Meng nearly passed out from the cross face but lightly taped out.
As bad of a man as Brock is, I can't say for certain that he would win in a fight against Meng back then. Meng just looks like he'd have a very nasty disposition in a fight whereas Brock is just a gigantic freak of nature farm boy.
Probably depends on the setting. If it's in a controlled sports event like UFC or a wrestling mat Brock would win. If it were a street fight where anything goes I'd bet on Meng.
Haku/meng is his prime will obliterated Brock lesnar in a UFC octagon or pro wrestling ring. In wcw, meng was a unstoppable monster and couldn't be controlled. Just ask goldberg, ask jim duggan, ask Kevin Sullivan, ask RIC flair, etc
+@mannyrivera4119: Tonga Uliuli "Meng" Fifita was a Sumo wrestler under the name Fukunoshima. Sione "The Barbarian" Vailahi competed too, under the name Sachinoshima. Rodney "Yokozuna" Anoa'i (RIP) had no actual Sumo experience, it was just his gimmick.
