Hey everyone. Just noticed a mistake in the video edit in regards to Goldberg's streak. It shows the same match at 23:44. Here's the Saturday Night Dark match : www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=44121 Here's the Thunder Dark Match: www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=6241 Sorry about that.
Years from now we’re all going to look back on this channel and this series as one of the best wrestling channels and reviews on RU-vid. You should be very proud of yourself. This is great content and you’re separating yourself from the others.
That's what's missing frm wrestling now...PPV's don't have it's own unique look anymore, everything is all the same...I use to love watching WCW Sunday night or WWF Sunday Night Heat just to get a glimpse at how the PPV set will look that night
@@shady3legend absolutely! Was too poor to order most ppvs as a kid, so used to catch heat to see the set, and then turn on the fuzzy ppv channel just to listen and see images through the static here and there. lol Sometimes you would actually be able to catch a full match here and there if your were lucky. good times.
The cool thing about Malone vs Rodman too was it wasn't just two random ball players they were actively going against each other in the playoffs for championships and played the same power forward position, so these guys had real life beef too, Rodman and the Bulls beating Malone and the Jazz in the finals 2 years in a row
In fairness, Rodzilla did that in his day job, too. One of the most legendary stories is that he took off from a Finals game with the Bulls to go rage in Las Vegas for 3 days, then turned up to the next game and played without having gone to sleep at all between games
People tend to forget how many amazing matches Jericho and Mysterio have had in their careers. Twenty-five years later they're still going. How can they not be two of the greatest ever?
When I was a kid my grandfather took me fishing on the lake and told me he wanted to share something really important with me, he said "Don't turn your back on the Wolfpac.. you might end up in a body bag.".
Its a good thing WCW and Rodman were done after this, I wouldn't even want to think what would have happened if he was still around at the time Scott really went hard on his addictions and started showing up drunk to shows.
It’s kinda sad looking back at how mentally checked out Bret already was at this point. You can tell he’s still doing his best to be professional, but you can also clearly see that his heart just isn’t in it.
If I were a wrestler, I’d watch old WCW tapes daily because they’re always showing unique moves (mostly from the cruiserweights) that very few people do nowadays on TV (in the Americas).
I see a lot of unique stuff happening just not as much in WWE. That isn't a knock on the wrestlers mind you it is just they have limitations on what they are allowed to do which hamper their creativity in the ring.
The fact Bret was fighting for the TV title shows WCW didn’t had the slightest clue what to do with him. Also Goldberg was the champ and still wasn’t main eventing pay per views brother
I think the giant was beginning to get more and more checked out of WCW and I believe Paul Wight has even said the WCW backstage was very different to the WWF and exhausting so I really don't blame him for his feelings around this time
I wish someone would do a voiceover edit with Schiavone calling every move a sidewalk slam. Spinning neck breaker? Sidewalk Slam! Frankensteiner? Sidewalk Slam! Drop Toehold? Sidewalk Slam!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen this man never fails to not only deliver episode after episode of fun and nostalgia but also throws in these unexpected surprises like the Pantera remix. Always look forward to Reliving the war.
Fastastic Pantera reference in the intro. I loved your previous Pantera piece in past videos pertaining to EL Pantera in action, with the Cowboys from Hell snippet slotted in. The intro here, walking in like that was bloody genius.
I watched Nitro every week around this time. Back in 98. With my Dad, who sadly passed away during 2015. One of his favourite moments of Nitro was Chavo coming to the ring on his hobby horse 😂
One of the more underrated ppvs of the late 90s imo i loved this one it showed just how good the roaster at this point could be when the spotlight wasnt just all over the nWo
It was most definitely the undercard who were the backbone of WCW. When they started to leave it was all but a matter of time for WCW. There was no way to climb the ladder as the older stars didn’t want to give to their spot.
On this day in 1998 I had just turned 13. I didn’t watch wrestling but loved WCW vs nWo world tour. We went to my dad’s friends house and this PPV was on. The Eddie v Chavo match hooked me, but I was still wondering where that goofy Buff Bagwell was from the n64 game.
The second most HYPED intro behind the reliving the war weekly intro. My goodness the Goldberg and Pantera mash up with the entrances goes together like peanut butter and jelly. Mixed to perfection
That goldberg/Pantera mix was amazing!!!!! Wrestling Bios, everything you do for this channel is amazing. You are my favorite channel and ywhen they talk abou the best wrestling channels, you should easily be at the top. Thank you!
The Guerreros are truly brilliant to be able to get all of that beautiful nonsense over in front of that crowd. Eddie was absolute comic gold and was even better with Chavo. This is what happens when people just “get” professional wrestling. They both know it isn’t just about work rate, because if it were, they could still outwork and outperform 99.99% of other pro-wrestlings who were living in 1998. Absolutely wonderful.
It sucks that Rodman messed up the match because Malone had a great look, tons of energy, acted excited to be there, and did the work. The match could have been so much better if Rodman had control over his impulses for just one measly night. SMH
Well to get Rodman control his impulses you needed authority figures like Isiah Thomas/Chuck Daly or Michael Jordan/Phil Jackson! Next to those pairings Hogan/Bischoff are a little pale! But Malone clearly was amped to go!
My dude you really kill it every week with your presentation, I catch all you videos and your music mashups seem to fit everyone one of them perfectly, even the decision to use wcw/nwo revenge theme music for reliving the war is perfect, keep up the great work.
7:03 That drawing of Stevie Ray made me think of the Contra 3 characters shown after clearing a stage. It's Time For Revenge. Let's Attack Aggressively.
This one of the earliest I've ever been to one of your videos lol. Thank you for all the amazing work and content you put out, it's always a banger whenever you drop and we love and appreciate all the time and effort and everything you do to provide us with quality content!
Bash at the Beach 1998 was where the nWo storyline should have ended, with a close to one year build of their downfall, with Sting leading the charge and having Bret Hart come in to help win the day. But what else can be said except "Hogan and Bischoff".
@@lexkanyima2195 Simple, Sting should have won without the shitty finish. I would have done was have the nWo interfere and Bret Hart comes in to save Sting and beating down Hogan for Sting to apply his finisher and win. Set up a rivalry between Hogan and Hart down the road, with a new group rising with Sting and Hart leading it against the nWo. By the time of Bash at the Beach, the entire PPV is both sides fighting for control of the company, ending with the nWo forced into disband due to the conditions of the losing team forced to do so. And then move on to a Sting vs Hart championship match.
@@lexkanyima2195 Simple, he can stay a heel and lead his own group from the remnants of the nWo or turn face again. Although staying heel would do him some good. And besides, Hogan is about as high up someone be in the wrestling world, he could lose a bunch of matches all at once and it wouldn't hurt him.
Been really looking forward to this one. My first ever ppv I saw, my mom bought it for me on VHS for my bday. I was a WWF fan at that time but that didn't matter I was so excited to watch it!
That hybrid intro theme was amazing! Way better than some of those WWE hybrid themes when they pair two random guys together that one Booker T and RVD had a long time ago. Speaking of, using RVD's old ECW entrance theme of Pantera's Walk made me imagine what RVD and Goldberg as a tag team would've looked like. Great stuff as always.
I remember just getting into pro wrestling at this time when I was 13. This was the first PPV we bought. We were so bored we never watched WCW again. I was wwf all the way from that point on. I am so thankful for this series and channel to finally see the gems that were in WCW. Thank you for your great work! Kick or be kickin'!!!!
The dance move that chavo does during his match with eddie is called a can-opener. Think about it, it vaguely looks like you're a giant can opener when you do it
