Absolutely right. I often go to railway station near my house just to hear WDP 4D sound jet engine sound. It has two stroke diesel engine with mechanically operated valves. You might have noticed that there is hardly any smoke emanated from this engine.
@@manojkumargangadharan9263 correct Sir! That’s because the Electro motive mechanism ensures less diesel engine load. The Alcos on the contrary were magnificent too just that they were non-nature friendly. 😁
Once the sound of American railroading, but sadly General Electric now dominates here. No more 2-strokes are being built for US use due to emissions laws.
This is the ideal loco for indian railways.... Amazing sound and flight like pick-up...... Don't understand why the hell brainless railways manufactured alcos...the loco which is meant for poor performance and failures..... Anyways lessons learnt by indian railways the hard way round... Better late than never....really hope no more alcos come on track and spoil the image of indian railways
Alco locomotives are great and it carried Indian railway to greater heights. you may see Alco locomotives recover emd hauled trains. Failures are part of any working machine and don't blame it on a superior technology like Alco locomotive.
