I show an alternative strat for getting the express elevator star 0xA using a downwarp. This doesn't save any time or A presses, but I thought it was still worth documenting. Credit to @supermarble94 for coming up with this idea.
The original 0xA strat for this star involved using negative vertical speed conservation to trigger the elevator while maintaining downward speed ( • SM64 - Express Elevato... ). Later, @ds27315 found a way to clip into the cage ( • SM64 - 0xA Express Ele... ), which when TASed by @lemon9bug resulted in a faster time than the original strat ( • [TAS] Express Elevator... ). And so this current video shows a variation of the original slower strat, meaning it's unlikely to actually be useful.
In the video, I do a double turnaround off the edge into a ceiling, and then press Z, which lets me downwarp. That lets me just barely get onto the elevator in time with B-swimming.
