The Canvasback duck was the most popular duck in the USA to hunt, reportedly flying in flocks so thick you couldn't see the sun in the 1940s. By 1980, they made their way onto the Species of Special Concern list. Mallards, as seen in this video, have undergone a 23% population decline from their long-term (already decreasing) average according to Ducks Unlimited, an organization with fundamental reasons to inflate current duck populations. Mallards could quickly find themselves in a case study alongside Canvasbacks at this rate.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I wish the best for these animals we’ve thoroughly exploited since shotgun hunting began. Unfortunately their numbers are falling, some have gone extinct, and too little conservation has occurred to protect them.

Makes me laugh all the negative comments Hunters are doing their bit for the environment …..quite a lot play active roles in habitat repair/construction 🤦♂️ they help keep duck numbers at reasonable levels ….what would happen if the hunting season didn’t exist …… ducks could get wiped out because they wouldn’t get a chance to pair up and breed🤷♂️…….crops would get decimated or even the ducks would get poisoned 🤦♂️ people are quick to point fingers without knowing facts That’s without even touching on the mental health side of things …..for me personally it’s not just blind killing of these beautiful creatures ( we hunters are animal lovers too) it’s more about the social aspect with the added bonus of putting some food on the table for my family

Ducks are innocent, please don't kill them just for your food. Every creature in this world are created by god , you don't have rights or license to kill it. Hunting is regulated in the U.S. these guys pay hunting fees and they go in turn to create wetlands to conduct research on population and condition of birds themselves.You will find no better champion of the species than a legal permit carryin hunter.

Humans are the only animals that kill more than they need to satisfy their hunger. Thats probably a duck calling out for it's mate that was killed and which it can see dead and strung up on the tree to bleed out.
