I don’t know where you get the unending amounts of energy you seem to have to take on as many projects as you do daily, Jami. You’re a phenomenal woman!❤
From the girl with the black thumb to the woman with ten green thumbs! Amazing how far you have come in such a short period of time. The new gardens bed is beautiful Jami.
I hope you got those three dome things at the entrance of the store, they were beautiful!! I love Lantana and have 2 plants that are as tall as me ,5’5. They have morning sun afternoon shade and all I do is cut old stems back in the spring when I see growth at the bottom. I was so lucky to another color for my area which excited the heck out of me. I have some cutting’s now to make babies. The guy doing yard work cut them at I am trying to save them. You may be able to cut stems back in the fall, I just keep doing what works for me. The butterfly’s love them!!!
Jami, Have you considered planting pineapple plants? The next time you buy a whole pineapple, cut off the top and stick it in a pot of dirt. Water it in the center of the leaves. It will grow into a beautiful plant and produce a pineapple. You can also plant it right in the ground.
How fun!! That does look like a great project that will help your heart. Digging in the dirt has started to be your happy place. I like that you pay really close attention to where you are planting and the sun exposure. What I love most about succulents is that they look like coral in the ocean. Maybe not the same colors but definitely the shapes.🥰
I love going along on the road trips ! Your flower bed will be gorgeous ! I wish you would talk Lester into his surgery(s) . The longer he waits the worse it will be and a longer rehab. You are amazing Jami !
Wow, road trips and gardening? What a perfect combo! 🌱🚗 It's like an adventure with a green twist. Can't wait to see what you guys create together! And those plants are gonna love all the care you give them! 🌼✌️
Since I can't fall asleep (been trying for 3 hours now), it's now 4:37 am. I decided to watch your video since I love them so much. Your garden area will be beautiful. Elephant ear plants are gorgeous 😍 Enjoy your gardening.
Morning everyone, I love when you take us with you Jami!! Glad to see Lester and you hanging out!! Haha you forgot to show us the surprise you bought silly girl ❤❤❤
@@brendawilliams2611 oh that makes since!! I bet she bought those 3 items in the beginning of the video!!! She has so many amazing ideas, and such an amazing person ♥
I love Christmas cactus 🌵 so beautiful when it blooms. I discovered it year my mom went to be with lord brought me some joy during grief Jami you hit jackpot with plants Have awesome day ❤❤❤❤
My mom has several that she could get to bloom several times a year. Now that she’s passed, I have to figure out how to care for the darn things. I LOVE plants but I have a brown… bay black thumb when it comes to plants.
My mom's oldest sister had one of the biggest flower garden I had ever seen. We have picture of her standing in a field of sunflowers from over 90 years ago. It was in Black Walnut MO near Grafton Illinois.
The little pink flowers you were looking at are called the Vinca now that is being recognized as a "desirable" flower but it used to be called a periwinkle when they just the weed flower. Cause like they say if you can't get rid of the weed. Just call it a flower. Then everybody would want them in their in garden. 😂
Use cardboard for your weed barrier. It breaks down so much better and adds to the soil. Caladium look great with elephant ears and they come in so many beautiful colors and grow well here in Florida so they should be a go for your area. Bird of Paradise are a great go to and they do spread. Wandering Jew, Sun patients, papyrus,Hairy ball plant , angel trumpets. I love plants that are statement pieces!
Good Wednesday morning Jami and Lester. I'm in awe of how knowledgeable you are at plants trees and flowers in just a few yrs now. You always come up with fantastic ideas and I can't wait to see it completed. 🎉 Have an awesome day 😎 ❤❤
So exciting I’m so happy we’re joining you because I’ve learnt so much about gardening from you over the years. My cucumbers are growing like crazy and I keep producing more and more so I thank you for teaching me my first ever garden love my farm family.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Jami, I just remembered that certain honeysuckle trees cats love. It produces a feeling to them better than catnip. You can take the branches and cut them into pieces and most cats will play and snuggle with them. Draw backs could be that the cats wouldn’t leave the trees alone.
That nursery is a money taker! I could spend a lot of money in there. I love the things they have not just all of the plants & flowers. Can't wait to see the finished product!
Gardening is so healing- Happy you have that therapy! Almost didn’t plant a garden this yr but felt lost w/out it-So glad I did! Got my Voo shirt today- Love it!!
I'll say what my daughter says to me. 'You went to the nursery without me!' Lol Can't wait to see how the area will look with the plants in. My happy place is also my garden. ❤
Good Wednesday morning 🙋♀️ 🐕 Jami and Lester. I am so glad that you have a water well to keep everything green. Where I live, we can only water 2 nights per week around the house. Have a blessed 🙏 and amazing day! ❤ 😊 ❤ 😊
Good morning Jami. Lester you can't say strap on for your braces. The garden project can't wait to see all the plants you got. Some of the names you were looking at were very interesting, mysterious and I don't garden or have plants due to I don't have a green thumb at all. Can't wait to see more progress and what we are doing. Lester you are the muscle of this project hope you helped getting the plants into the vehicle. HAGD you both and thanks for taking us along on the road trip.
Only thing about elephant ears is they are really hard to get rid of if you don't want them anymore. I bought my house 16 years ago and it had then, they spead everywhere even where I didn't want them..lol I know it will be beautiful like everything you do ❤
What a fun time going to your favorite nursery. Your extention of your shade garden will look very pretty. I'm sure you had a great day on your little road trip. Lester's strapped up and ready to go .😅
Certainly wish I had a nursery like that. I’m too old to redo gardens. I had to hire somebody just to thin mine out too many perennials growing too big.. I may have to do a little replanting, but that’s all I’m able to do this time of my life.🥰❤️ anxious to watch your garden as it progresses.
You know what you guy's need around your roof! ( Leaf Filters) this will definitely save Lester from hurting himself, plus money on roof repairs ( If you's have any anytime) but in the long run it's so much easier on the two of you's! Something to think about!😊😊😊
I wish I could grow things and have a garden of flowers and crops. But I'm so allergic (fully body itching, sneezing, congestion, sinus infections, eye issues, etc) to pollen and flowers and so much else in that sort of hobby. I end up so miserable. So I have to live the gardening life vicariously through people like Jami.
I love succulents and have many pots of different varieties at my house... HOWEVER, you have to have some type of sorcery running through your veins to be able to keep a String of Pearls alive! I, myself, have personally wiped out the ones in Dallas. I have put myself in Pearls timeout for now.
Humming birds live those shrimp plants. I have the red one I bought in a tree form of 3 plants braided into a tree. It is on my patio and I absolutely love it. I’m in NC and must Bri g them in when it gets colder.
That sure looks like a great nursery, lots of unusual varieties. I moved away from the Houston area 17 years ago and miss being able to grow so many things. I hadn’t thought about my shrimp plant in a very long time. I wonder if the purchasers of my house kept everything in the garden alive.
I absolutely love Mother Hen and Chicks. They are so hardy and can double or triple from one season to the next. I’m not crazy about cactus at all because it seems as if every time I’m within 5 feet of one I get stabbed with their sharp pokey stabby things. So I stay far away from them. Moss roses do very well here in southeastern Washington St; they don’t grow very tall at, maybe about 8/10 inches tall but they put out such cute flowers and several colors of flowers on each plant. Anyway your new flowerbed is going to look amazing. I love your elephant ear plants, it make me wish I had one or two or ten. I can’t to see your flowerbed all finished
Put the succulents plants in that tower planter with not too much dirt mix them with small rocks and dirt or small woodship plant them and don't water them too much they like the sun they have beautiful flowers.
The Cactus grow beautiful outside in Sandy ground, and even if it falls over whatever touches the ground with Gro and I have another bloom and they have beautiful blooms
When I lived in Las Vegas, I planted lots of lantana which loved the south side; came back every year, filled out the area. I think salvia is also great in a sunny area. That's all I know about hot spots in the yard. I used to pour regular white vinegar straight on the weeds; they have a way of popping up through the weed cover. Take care. P.S. Cacti and dog noses don't mix 😞
You can get the rocks with the sayings on them to put where the water runs off the roof they will be cute and stop the water from making holes and what not...just a thought lol....I'm excited to see it all finished ❤
Sweet potato vine is pretty when contained but will take over a ground garden of any kind, I found out the hard way, ended up ripping all of it out and it still came back!
Happy Day Jami, I love trips to the green house just so much eye candy. You look at the plants I would look at and buy. My latest plant is and had to have it is a Martha Stewart Begonia fell in love with the leaves
I’m in the process of planting two rows of Siberian iris in our 50ft planter. A shorter variety in the front and taller ones in the back with liatris down the middle. They do great in mixed sun and after flowering they stay full and green instead of drying up. They will also deter the bunnies and squirrels from getting in the planters and munching on my liatris! They were chewing them down so bad the last couple years, I was about to hot wire them😂.
I looked up the Hibiscus... "The Cajun Hibiscus 'Jamie Rose' is a stunner with peony-like layered petals with intensely ruffled edges. Colour changes within the bloom from a lilac to true purple". It sounds wonderful.
My husband's grandmother used to plant a dwarf sweet potato vine. Then string strng to the top of her porch roof. It created a great shade for her porch. And it was beautiful
