Install a drainage pipe or hose all around your fenceline, so u can fill that with water and spray ot let it flood. Build a pool or pond. Use the pump from that.

Flame off and other fire retardant coating will protect your home, also intumescent paint will work you'll have to call the paint supply stores to see if they carry that. You could also dig you a perimeter skinny "pond" going around your entire property line, think of a moat, during rainy season it would fill up nicely and that could add an extra border of protection, of course you'll have to treat it to keep mosquitos out but at least your home will be protected from fire, if you build it wide enough you could stock it with fish and they'll take care of the mosquitos. Borax is also a flame retardant.

Planting cactus and fire resistant plants and trees near your property or in front rather will help. The high water content will make them just boil inside but not burn seen it in Australian homesteads. They also have water tanks just for fires with auto activation incase you're away. Some building materials are fire proof and can be useful in that zone

Glad YT presented your video, because that is one thing most "Off Griders" don't consider. Just having an adequate fire break is not enough. Proper water storage in a water tower to have good pressure and some dish soap mixed in to cause foam would definitely help fight the fire. Thank you for the video. It was easy for the fire to jump that dirt road as it looks to be only 6 or 8 feet wide.. just not enough. Think a "grey water" storage tank for emergencies and plant watering.

Oh wow. Thankfully you guys are ok. I would say clear out part of your neighbors land to create a buffer. Just inform them of what transpired. I read Belize should really get some rain by Wednesday. Right now, a 5 - 10% chance of rain overnight. Hopefully the rain comes soon. Stay safe.

I'd be careful of even the ones behind your property because if the wind shifts it'll come right back at you

In the states or at least in Washington state if you send a registered letter to the homeowner or property owners saying that they need to come in and take care of your their dangerous trees or area and they don't then you have full right to.
