On day 8 of our trans-siberian railyway journey from Irkutsk to Vladivostok, we left Ulan-Ude to travel 64 hours straight in First Class! We almost missed our train, give a tour of our room, and bribed our attendant with chocolate :)

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
We’ve pulled inspiration from several of our favorite travel vloggers on RU-vid, such as: +CaseyNeistat +FunForLouis +Jon Olsson +Mr Ben Brown, and any other talented travel vloggers that RU-vid’s algorithm will hopefully connect us with ;)

Planning our Trans-Siberian Railway adventure wasn't easy! We had a ton of questions, and the internet had very few answers! So to help out our fellow travelers who might be interested in booking a trip of their own, we've put together the Ultimate Guide to Riding the Trans-Siberian. This guide will walk you through all of the steps from securing your visa to planning your route and booking your tickets. Read it here karaandnate.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-riding-the-trans-siberian-railway/

Advice for travelers. If you missed train in Russia, it is not the end of the world. You can return your ticket to the ticket office and get reimbursed. And then you can buy a ticket for the next train. For example, for Kara and Nate, the next train to Mongolian Ulan-Bator would leave at 1am.

You got 99% correctly how to build friendship with Russian train attendants. They normally get friendlier if you buy some souvenirs or tea/coffee they offer on board. Because they must complete the sales plan.

One little advise for the future, you can actually ask for a cups from the cart attendant. All this thing with ordering coffee and "secretly keeping" cups was so redundant, when they are provided on demand even for lower classes.

Hello! It's fun to watch your trip :) Of course, it's hard for you to understand that for the first time in Russia all the diversity is the essence of mutual understanding of many peoples living in a vast territory and considering themselves to be one notion-Russians, you do not have such a task. Well, if you understand the main thing that in Russia there are not terrible people, but the same as you. I wish you good luck and try something else tasty and original. Bon Voyage !

“lots of little floaty things” made me smile. One of the most memorable things for me in St P was ordering an herbal tea and getting what looked like a swimming pool with a handle filled with steaming tea and floating in it was allll sorts of beautiful things. Juniper berries, some sort of twig, a berry or two, herbs. Have a picture somewhere. It was so charming and tasted amazing!

I think that's the only thing that truly annoys me. I understand they travel differently because they are ways on the road but train stations in China always tell you to show up an hour before leaving, same in Canada. Especially when there is such a language difference which they've mentioned multiple time they should really give themselves a bit more of a buffer. It gets me anxious just watching. Besides that I love their energy and the fun things they do I didn't thing of

There is a new Tupperwear (magiccook) that cooks food like brown rice, noodles, veggies, potatoes. .. meat too but u probably need a frig. Loving your vlogs!! Funny how Russia and Canada looks so similar in terms of scenery in the Fall! It’s almost like looking outside my window here in East Coast Canada :)

I brought some UK Cadbury's chocolate and Scottish shortbread along on my Trans-Siberian adventure. I planned to give it to my provodnitsa (carriage attendant) when I left the train at Irkutsk, but she was too busy barking at a passenger on the platform, so she missed out. I eventually gave them to the check-in clerk at my hotel because he arranged an early check-in for me. People are always so helpful and friendly in Russia, you will wish you brought more gifts with you to hand out.
