Professional marathoner Noah Droddy did not come from a decorated running background. He took a big swing to pursue a passion and run professionally. His journey has been filled with both spectacular failure and intoxicating success. Above all, he has learned that in running, and in life, you are not defined by what happens to you, but by how you respond to periods of both success and adversity. A Salomon TV original film by Matt Trappe.

Noah willingness to leverage everything and not ‘sacrifice the gift’ is a testament to his work ethic in a sport that struggles to support quality athletes and people.

Nice guy with simple and positive attitude. Heavily marred by bad luck in the moments that could change your life forever. I think he deserves a couple of shots more to the Big Goal, without any doubt. As a mediocre runner for ages, I found difficult to hold back the tears watching his video.

Since Noah is a rock 'n' roll long distance runner, his story makes me think of an AC/DC song. "Gettin' beat up, broken boned. Getting had, getting took. I tell you folks, it's harder than it looks, it's a long way to the top, if you want to rock 'n' roll". Or be a successful professional distance runner. As a mediocre walk-on cross country/track runner back in college I was struggling with balancing electrical engineering classes, running 70 - 100 miles a week and not get injured, working in the cafeteria to make ends meet, etc. I needed to walk away from running to concentrate on school to make sure I graduated. I couldn't give running up and wrote a note to my coach that I was going to continue to be on the team. The note included a paraphrase of part of the song "Ballad of Mott the Hoople". "Long distance running's a loser's game, it mesmerizes, and I can't explain, the reason for the sacrifice and the pain. It seems I've even quickened the pace, so what the hell, I can't erase, this long distance feeling from my mind. From my mind From my mind From my mind From my miiiiiiiiiiiind From my miiiiiiiiiiiind From my miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind From my miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind" Best wishes for continued success, Noah! Long may you run!

And that is what life is about.... failure and success and repeat. Noah is a true inspiration to all of us who have goals and are moving through our crazy experience not knowing whether success or failure awaits us around the bend, but...... we keep going because honestly we LOVE what we do and can't imagine life without our passion. Love love the car, Noah!

What an awesome guy. I really hope he is able to achieve his best. 9th all time American is fantastic. Droddy appears to be a very kind and sensitive guy and he is learning to take it all in his stride and perform consistently. I’ll be cheering for him all the way!

This guy has lived a life. GL @ CIM. Also excited to see Salomon's new 2023 road lineup. Sounds like they're finally getting serious about pavement. That's good b/c Nike & Adidas have owned the marathon scene for far too long.

I love how anyone can try and belittle someone for only running a “2:10” marathon. Noah you’re an inspiration.

Although running isn’t my career. I can totally relate to feeling without purpose when injured. Running is so all consuming it’s easy to spiral when you can get out the door for a run. Loved this story. The world needs more people like Noah chasing their dreams. Wishing him the best of luck at CIM!

He ran past me on the creek path one day; I did a double take. There are lots of homeless guys hanging around that area in Boulder, but I definitely did not mistake Droddy for one. If you're reading this comment, Noah, know that you're a stallion. You've got nothing to prove.
