Why do people think they need new cars? New doesn't mean reliable. I've had my '89 Camaro since 2017, my '07 Charger Since 2019, and my '99 S500 since 2022. I paid less than the average cost of a new car for the three combined, have paid an average of about $350/m in maintenance to own all three, and have only had one breakdown where the IROC's radiator blew a hole on a club cruise. Old cars can be perfectly reliabile and much cheaper than a new car, especially on payments. You get so much more bang for your buck.

It's stunning to me how far into useless debt people get into. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't pay both of my two credit cards off each month. I understand it's hard for a lot of people these days but just to continue to pad the debt makes no sense to me, as if you are just kicking a can down the road. Make some changes in your lifestyle and stop spending so much money.

One thing I was able to do was reduce the extra principle I was paying on our 2 3/8% mortgage to put it toward much-higher credit cards. Not always an option and not always what people want to do -- but it can work.

the suggestion to get rid of those dogs went in one ear and out the other 😂 dog owners are irrational and will sacrifice their livelihoods before giving away their bestest buddies. i've had friends tell me they're willing to get kicked out of their apartment where pets aren't allowed before getting rid of their dog.

Sell the house, the cars and the dogs. Problem solved. 90k is enough to rent a 2 bedroom, after you use the home equity to get rid of all the debt. Put the rest in HYS, and start saving for a Mobile Home in cash. Theyll be fine.

They are not going to be able to rent a house with 5 dogs. And they're not going to get rid of the dogs. $35,000/yr for childcare ? Did I hear that right ? Childcare is expensive, but it shouldn't cost anywhere near that. 2 Jeeps ? They couldn't get by with a couple of used Toyotas ? The amount of stupid here is staggering.
