I've been watching UU videos and sermons for a few years, and I'm definitely thinking of joining a UU congregation. I've grown up in a Christian church all my life and I've never for in, never identified as one of them, and that led to bullying and all kinds of other stuff. I am kinda nervous, never having many friends/being hurt by people who called themselves my friends, you know. But from what I've seen, UU's seem to be the nicest, and friendliest, so we'll see how it goes....

I once went to the Yakima Uu church, it was nice. A lot of old hippies which is cool. Yes, a lot of atheists lol. I like universalism personally. I’m a member of the Baha’i faith, but also love Quakerism too.

Why you, Unitarian Universalists, reject the Holy Trinity? It is interesting for me, an Orthodox Christian.

it kind of depends on who you ask but I wouldn’t say we necessarily reject it. We use the Bible and many other scriptures as references but we don’t follow one specifically. Each UU kind of has their own ideas about the holy trinity/god/etc so I think that would be more specific to each person.

Agree with Kellie, reject is a strong word but it is important to keep in mind, early Unitarians at the time of Calvinism were killed for their beliefs that rejected the trinity. Look up Michael Servetus who was burned at the stake for his book “Errors of the Trinity.” He was burned with his book strapped to his leg. We have a stained glass window of Michael Servetus at our church.
