I worked for NOV for 6 years. At the "Original" National Oilwell Inc. Plant, and in field service. Got the best training in the world, worked with the finest Technicians in the world. Made life-long friends that are still at my house 3 to 4 nights a week, from floor worker, to Corporate Management. I wouldn't trade my time there for anything.
I made the mistake of working in the cedar park Texas plant. I'd rate it as the single worst place I've ever worked. Totally about who you know and who you're in with rather than what you know. There are many 30 year plus entitled employees, married couples, children working there and the new guy stands no chance. Completely inept and corrupt management, nepotism, brown nosing, etc. One of the pervious general managers was involved in a police standoff and sentenced to many years in prison, and persistent rumors of covert homosexual activity on premises. Stay away.
I had an opportunity to work for them last year and I didn't take it because I had another offer for a few dollars more ..I've been regretting it ever since..and trying to find another way back in.
