The case cracking issues were mostly 1990 and 1991 EVO motors and you would see the vertical hairline cracks forward of the oil pump. Your 1988 should be all good

90 AND UP TO 92 HAD ISSUES FROM CASE CRACKING, THE ONES WE SAW WERE MOSTLY BETWEEN THE CYLINDERS AND WERE ALMOST ALWAYS FROM GUY UPPING THE HP ON THE MOTORS, HARLEY ADDED MORE ZINC TO THE ALLOY TO MAKE THE CASES LOOK SMOOTHER BIG MISTAKE WARRANTIED A FAIR AMOUNT OF CASE NEVER SAW ANY CRACKING AROUND THE OIL PUMPS.
Also building an 88 FXR. 113" engine. Just got fxdx fork and cvo touring rotors amd sealed 13 spoke wheels. I can run any 11.8 rotors correct? Or do they need to be counter bored?
