Finally sb. who is mentioning the importance of having farmers ... that actually produce FOOD. Hey Cody, ground that fuel tank bubby! You especially need to ground it since you've got the whole tank isolated from the ground via that pallet. Just a little wire and alligator clamp. Or an old jump starter cable.
@nessiehikes
@nessiehikes 4 года назад
If it’s not grounded, a charge difference can build up between the tank assembly and whatever he is fueling. When he goes to fill something up, it could spark the vapors and cause a gasoline fire, or a tank rupture.
@tunafish4557
@tunafish4557 4 года назад
Yes sir you are 100% correct those pumps produce alot of static its better to be on the safe side and ensure its grounded. I'm an aircraft mechanic and all of our oils and our alcohol are in 55 gallon drums, the ones with oil have those type pumps (except they have filters) and our alcohol has a special esd free pump as well as them all being grounded. And when I mean grounded I mean a galvanized rod put into the earth and tested with a multimeter every couple of years.

I wouldn't worry about people too much. This is America, and people in a crisis are NOT like the people you see in Hollywood movies in a crisis, or the few inner-city exceptions played up in the news! I've lived through a few, heard tell of a few more, and found Americans to be their most giving and generous in a time of crisis. We tend to all pull together rather than fall apart, and there's A LOT of precedent behind that statement. It's been our history and legacy; our way of life really, for a long, long time. If you're watching, the key in reducing deaths with this crisis is not overloading the healthcare system and especially ICUs and ventilators, as pneumonia is the common illness with the serious side of this virus. Not reducing contact means not slowing the spread, which means a quick, high spike in infections. That means a quick, high spike in the 20% that get very ill with this disease and the 5%-10% that get critically ill; more than enough to overwhelm our healthcare system. The real fear is, if we don't slow the rate of infections, that we will overwhelm the system, and people who get pneumonia (it's what they call this virus in China, they don't even call it COVID) won't be able to get access to a ventilator and the drugs that can save their lives. As has been the case in other countries and COULD be the case here, they could be turned away and literally sent home to die. In Wuhan, it's estimated that over 60% of the virus pneumonia deaths happened at home, only a much smaller % received treatment in a hospital. That's what we're trying to avoid by this "abundance of caution" and reduction of contact as early as possible.

No, but when China is shutting down everything to contain said outbreak, and ports are refusing goods from China because of the outbreak, THE OUTBREAK HAS AN EFFECT ON IMPORTING GOODS! This may come as a shock to you, but the major and finer points of an economy and public health don't exist in separate bubbles, they can and do effect each other. If you doubt that, look at the history of the stock market since this outbreak started, or the commodities market. This is the first time since 08 I can recall seeing gold and silver prices in a downslope rather than slowly heading up. Because of this outbreak that you seem to think has nothing to do with anything but itself. Moron.

The problem with all this prepping stuff is how much can you stock pile ? If it gets as bad as some of us are thinking it could .. you can’t get enough stuff stock piled. I mean let’s say you can stock pile a full months worth of everything your family needs . So if this drags on 3 months then what ? Maybe you have more money and resources then the average person and can stock pile enough stuff for 6 months . Your still gonna run out at some point . And when people run out ., things will get bad . The guy that only had enough supplies for 1 month and runs out will be looting the guy that has enough for 3 months. It will all spiral out of control at some point regardless . All prepping does is delay the inevitable and put some people in a position of power or vulnerability. Also it can become an obsession . So your spending every last dollar you have to stock pile food and gasoline etc . But when is it enough ? We don’t know how long or how bad this or any other catastrophe will be . So when all your jerry cans are full and your pantry is stuffed .. is it enough ? Or should you double or triple your supply ? If the whole country collapses and anarchy ensues .. I’m not sure I’d want to be sitting at my homestead with all supplies me and my family needs . Talk about being a target . Let’s hope this all blows over in a month or so .. but until then .. stay safe .

Learn to live without electricity. Get yourself away from things that require it or gas for uses that suck away gas just to operate. Learn how to wash clothing, cut, cook, ect without the need for electricity. The more you depend upon modern tech the dumber and less able you make yourself function cause of the lack of skills and dependance is placed upon those things. Learn to grow your own food, learn to live with no power, so much tech today if you take away electricity would cause most to just loose it cause of the lack of skill and knowledge most are uneducated in. Its amazing how much skill has been lost and forgotten just out of dumbing life through the modern conveyance of water pressure systems, if you loose that there goes your showers, flushing toilets, washing abilities, cleaning clothes. Then top it off with electric there goes your refrigeration, power tools, lights, computers, communication, navigation, cooking, heating, cooling, ect. Then add the stupid power generators which suck gas like a bad pickup truck using 2 gallons just to generate power for what 10 hours? What a waist! Not to mention if thier is a gas shortage and price shift of higher elevated prices of what value is gas really? If you need that for power your riding a sinking ship.

AldoSchmedack we got a 1000 now for 11 million people. Not much but it just keeps spreading. It’s not a common flu. It’s way harder.

It is actually interesting that you started preparing already 1/2 a Year ago and now you are exactly done with the start of Corona Virus. It literally seems like you had known of it in the first place 😂 Greetings from South Germany 👍

This will be bad, but it isn’t ‘the big one’. This will wake up many Americans who wanted to be ready but didn’t do so for social stigma.

I work in the supply chain for a large multi national European company. There is no problem with supply, at least within Europe. Processes are taking a little longer because depots are taking precautions in terms of security. But such places already have extremely high hygiene standards going in to production areas is like entering a operating theatre where you have to wash hands etc. The only problem is panic buying.

Just an FYI. I live in Allegheny County, PA. Our first two known cases have just been confirmed IN Allegheny County (where Pittsburgh is located). Our shelves are not bare. I’ve gone on about 3 separate prepping shopping trips and the only things that we are short on is hand soap, sanitizer, toilet paper. FOOD IS NOT A SHORTAGE. Not yet. Only time will tell but it’s really not this serious yet. Go out in the morning before the stores open. Buy some cases of water and toilet paper but don’t hoard. Buy essentials. Consider others. Continue living your life.

Quick question, is this haircut in preparation for hunkering down? Looks good, just shorter than normal.

all you are doing is adding to the fear and panic...this too will pass...it is a "flu".....many people have had it and survived without incident...but those are not the headlines...telling people that the cup boards are bare just adds to the angst and panic ...

Made in the USA, beautiful but rare. Thank you for the info you have provided since I subscribed to your Chanel. Good luck to you & yours during this difficult time. Small good news story: The pump we use for our bore died today & we had to purchase another. I said quietly to my husband. 2 is 1. He bought 2. I was so proud. He has been great making sure we have petrol for cars, pumps, generators, mower etc., without any of the usual discussion or delays. Made sure we had firewood etc. Finally got it. Once again

Kinda glad my neighbor has goats and chickens, so we could still get milk and eggs if need be. I don't mind the taste of goat milk, and growing wheat is pretty easy here in Washington state, so flour is covered. I can hunt for meat so that's covered too.👍 Washington state schools are all closed until the end of April.
