NEVER look at a house above your budget. It just make you crazy. The good news is, keep looking. You'll find one, you'll feel it (like Carlo said). I looked at ~50 houses before I found the one I purchased.

We found a great house we had over looked. It didn't have Pictures, so we kept skipping it. My cowork lived next doors and was like "You'll love the house." So we looked and yep loved it. Put in our offer. Got out bid by a house flipper who paid cash. So sadly for the next month we upped our budget and kept looking. Found a house we liked. More like the neighborhood, but still good house. Right as we were getting ready for the offer our realtor called saying the flipper didn't have the money and the house we loved was back on market. We jumped and last Wednesday we got our keys. Basically, your perfect home will come to you guys. Keep your heads up.

I live in Southern California, and when you said 1.5 million, I thought to myself, that's a pretty good price. That is how insane the real estate prices are where I live.

if you decide to buy a condo or townhouse then make sure that you find out whether or not it can be rented out month to month or short term because some condos don’t allow it especially of it has HOA fee. So just be careful! (That is if you would like to ever rent it and look for another house rather than selling and buying)

Good luck to you. Two years ago, I moved to Chicago from another state to teach. I only had two months to sell my old house and buy a new one. Thank goodness I had an incredible realtor who made the process much easier than it probably should have been. I absolutely love my new house and my neighborhood. You will definitely know when you've found the right one.

The housing market is insane in Massachusetts. Truly. I know my sister was going nuts. She really wanted Wakefield/Lynnfield area. But it was so competitive. Finally she took a chance outside her "desired" area and found one in Saugus. I hope you both find your forever home! It will happen!

Please make sure to get the place you buy inspected before closing the deal it will save you from major headaches especially when it comes to electrical and plumbing problems in Massachusetts homes, coming from the north shore myself and in the trades it’s a must , when buying property around here.

I love vintage homes. The rooms are large and airy. With a lot of character with high ceilings.

The market to buy a house is a bit tough, especially where you live, including what city and state you reside in. And the weather this year during the summer has been a bit rainy and its a good idea to look into area that might have mold or some flooding😪. All I can say is keep looking , keep searching but you will be in a for a ride looking for your home.❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Glad I got my house in 2008 when the market crashed. 2400sq foot and on a half acre of land for 190k now it's worth 850k crazy time. I was 23 when I got my house, 4 more years to go and it's all mine 🎉. My wife and I are now looking for our vacation home in Casper, Wyoming.

It's a bad time to buy a house, because interest rates are so high. I would rent something cheap for a year or so and wait to buy a house, when interest rates are lower.

Before final purchase, make sure there is full disclosure on the history of repairs done AND pending, have a trustworthy full inspection, research the history of the neighbourhood, neighbours and noises, proximity to medical services given Sarah's health condition and future planned pregnancies and to quality schools, and that it is fully rentable at a value that will cover the mortgage when you decide it will be FAR healthier AND safer to raise your kids in Italy!

My first house took over 2 years to find/ looked at over 200 houses. Second took about 6mos/ looked at about 50 houses Third house took 4 mos/ looked at about a dozen. But... the second and third it was easier because of the internet and I signed up for notices, and websites had virtual walk throughs .

It took me 7 years of hunting until i found my house, it has EVERYTHING on my list. My home just fell on my list in a completely different area I was adamant I would not look nor live. In all 10+ years I've live here never once did I have a regret and it's absolutely perfect.

BEST Gluten free past anywhere is made in Connecticut…..it comes frozen….costs a fortune to ship but you can pick it up in person. The owner created it when his wife had to become GF. It’s DePuma’s pasta….I’m Italian with a Sicilian husband…..we have pasta once or twice a week.

A realtor will help because they'll know what can be negotiated and how to. Also, check water pressure & toilet flush pressure. Check how long it takes for hot water to get hot from faucet. And definitely check cell phone (wifi) connection speed. Dead zones. 😮😊😊

I live in New York I'm actually from Long Island originally and I grew up in Italian neighborhood and my family's from Italy but I live upstate New York right now and things are a lot cheaper you guys should really check it out because you can get literally a four-bedroom house for $100,000 it is absolutely amazing and actually buy Cooperstown. But words of the wise is never ever look at a house that's passed your price range it'll drive you absolutely nuts. And it'll just be obsessed in your mind. And yes always ask questions I write on a piece of paper when I was looking for house way back when and doing all of that that I give you know does a flood has it ever flood when was the last time it flooded because you don't want a place that floods in the basement and do you have black mold I would look underneath and behind things cuz you want to look for that cuz that's going to cost hundreds of thousands to get rid of. Well or city water you also want to review schools for kids if you guys ever have kids you want to look all up into that because there's times where I love the neighborhood but the school system was crap.funny house is never easy and you want to go by the vibe I was so people could gut feeling you get when you step into house or even if you get an uneasy feeling always follow your gut instinct because there's always truth behind it. But take your time insole for a house that you actually adore and love and you can picture Christmases and all the family is enough space for everybody to get together and look at a broad spectrum of things.

Dang your budget must be enormous! North of Boston ain't cheap. We've been looking south of Boston for about 2 years now, but it's a lot of overpriced garbage. Wishing you both lots of luck!

I say get a decent house in a decent area to start. So many couples get homes that both have to work to survive and can't afford to have children. I got what is called a starter house and planned to live there 5 years and get a bigger one. Also always go back to the house at night and the weekends. Sometimes it looks like a nightmare after dark and weekend's before you buy since your looking when most are at work. Always remember 99% of realtors lie they want the money

My son and his wife bought their first home in a Condo community. They would never do it again. They all have detached homes with 3 swimming pools and a big play area for kids. It looks lovely, but there are so many restrictions on the community it's ridiculous. I hope you just buy a single family home.
