We live in southeastern Illinois on a 41 acre homestead. We just finished building our log cabin in 2018. Now we are focused on trying to grow our own food and raise livestock. Follow us on our journey we continue to develop our homestead and farm, while becoming more self sufficient.

Don't worry about making us feel safer or happy, if you're comfortable with your idea, roll with it. Those pallet fork extensions are clever thinking, what I call farmer ingenuity! Well done, Evan!

I really LOVE your videos & You as a FARMER.!! I like how you Think your projects through and you are reusing a lot of what you have on the farm what does running to town and buying a Lotta new stuff. My father was the way you are in many ways but I just like watching how you work and this was a wonderful video of taking something you already have and turning it in to another very Purposeful Shelter for a different type of animal and it turned out wonderful. I also like that you measure your stuff not once but twice and you build your stuff correctly and not sloppily!!!!! I don’t mean to try to embarrass you with My comments but I am sincere about it. I have seen a lot of men work and they just want to hurry and get the job done quickly and they don’t take pride in your work or integrity about their work. My father always said “if a job is worth doing, Then it is worth doing right!!” And that seems to be the way you work. You also are constantly thinking through your projects and doing everything you can to make what you’re doing right, and by that statement I am referring to you added your extra links onto the prongs and then you observed how it looked and decided that you needed a little more links instability both so you provided that as well I need a student hurry and you didn’t just hurry in to what you were trying to do, Causing more problems for yourself. Anyway that’s enough flattery LOL I am anxious for the Little pigs to be Added to your farm. And to see what type you get. Everybody has their favorite breed. Thank you so much for taking us along on your videos and sharing with us!! God bless and have a wonderful day

Evan, you are a Jack of all Trades. That was a fantastic idea to make a chicken coop into a hog coop. You saved time, work and money by using what you have. The piggies will enjoy their new hoop. The lift extension was a brilliant idea in moving the coop. Rebekah you have a best friend. He knows when you are near and he is going to get a treat. The both of you are fantastic homesteaders and I love watching what’s going on on the homestead. I be waiting for the next video to see what’s happening next. A repurpose job well done. Thanks for sharing. God bless you both and bye for now.

T-posts on the corners screwed into the 4x4 posts and maybe a 2x4 or bigger across the front of the pen to help support the two front corner posts together. By the time you get this you’ll be setting down over supper ( dinner) which ever one you call it a light bulb will go off saying this same thing but maybe that’s why we’re here to think for you sometime.

Hog shelter looks great. Might not hurt to stack it down, be terrible if a big wind flipped it. Also would be good to coat the siding with water sealer. Make it last much longer!

What great savings using a former chicken coop. Saved money and labor time on a rebuild. They should be quite happy in their new home. Evan, I am afraid your brown steer is going to be a permanent fixture on Country View Acres. I doubt Rebecca is going to let him go to freezer camp. LOL. I don't blame her though. That has to be the tamest steer on the planet. Y'all have a Blessed day.

Only thing huh oh i have to say Don't ever get under that loader. If the right hose/seal or the pump fails, that thing will drop like a rock. I knew you'd have a solution for those forks!! I've done that myself. Extensions aren't that hard to work up and the tubing works way better than the channel type. Just have to be a little extra careful since you can't lock the tubing to the forks. Great job as always Evan!!

Hey Evan my husband was just sitting here b 4 you started taking the chicken coup apart saying to just to use a cutting wheel...then you said that...now he's saying use a 2x 6 on the top of the forks and c clamp.it...and put a board across the forks to lift....well you just did it with metal ! Lololol...OMGoodness....and now the board ! you're both on the same page in your endeavors needing solutions for issues! Lololol....wish he were there to help you and share in thevfun...I'd be petting the steers and goats with Rebekah ! And you're gonna get pigs too ! What a great idea for a pig house ! 🏠 🐽...good idea and great planning 👍 ! This was fun watching ! God bless you and Rebekah and all your critters ! I'm proud of you guys ! Love the finished "hog hooch " ...piggies will love it ! Just a thought...do you think it would secure the hooch if you staked the 4 corners cuz I'm wondering as they move around and getting bigger they may move it around ...that may weaken the structure too. Just a thought. 😊
