Canadian here! I've been ticketed in the US before... I think it was 87 in a 70? ticket was only 80 bucks, so I wasn't too worried... Apparently whatever state I was in at the time does however communicate this stuff with Canada, and I did lose a couple points on my license... If you don't pay, the next time you try and cross into the states, they'll basically take you directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200 lol

I have been going for about 18 years. Next year, I will stay clear of Biloxi. The cops there seem to want to shut the event down- they don't need my tourism money. Turning the road into a parking lot by cutting the travel lanes in half for the largest traffic load of the year- brilliance. I did get to see on motorcycle cop lay his bike down as he made one of the dozens of loops he made that night. The cops made a real ass of themselves in Biloxi.

3 times and its confiscated, not necessarily crushed some get auctioned off. 1st time is 1 month impound 2nd is 3 months impound. They are known as the hoon laws, they include a bunch of different offences

@@its_tricky_dick Here they get you for undue care and attention, which is like 6 points on licence, which means loss of licence and huge fine and yearly fine on your licence till points are gone, which could take 10 years or more.

@matzrat5006 Australia has 12 points on a licence. Pissy driving, careless/wreckless driving and hoon offences don't loose (in aus you gain them) points but you can loose your licence. We don't have yearly added points but if you acrew more than 12 points after a 3 month suspension they ad them to your next total. Say if you manage to do some dumb stuff on a double demerit weekend (around public holidays) and get say 28 points you will loose your licence for 6 months plus have the 4 points rolled over. They last 3 years (in wa), no continual gaining of points from an offence. Wa also has a "good behaviour" scheme where if you loose your licence on points you can opt for keeping your licence but only allowed to gain 2 points (minimum points on a fine is 2 l, 0-5km over is no points) for a year but if you gain the points in that year it's 6 months ban

There’s typically an option to pay the fine and then take defensive driving to keep it off your record. I tried to fight a parking ticket once. The city did reduce it, telling me that if I still wanted to fight it, I would have to appear in court a second time (take time out of my day and drive all the way out there). I was already ticked off because they sent a letter about the court date to the registered car owner, which was my father at the time. I was in college, but still a teenager living at home then.

While I completely understand, and it will probably be a bummer, since locals rely on those tourism dollars, take it to the track. Now then, “reckless driving” indicates that he wasn’t speeding. They wanted to ticket him for misbehaving, but they could have got him for street racing, which, in my state, they impound your car. Still, events like this tend to have designated areas and scheduled times for you to fool around in a safe and legal setting. You just lose out on the fun of spontaneity.

​@UmmYeahOk reckless is a misdemeanor and is about as bad as a DWI as far as his insurance will car. Definitely worth fighting to try to get it reduced
