There is no indication of bad rulings by the judge nor misconduct by jurors. People need to give it up. In my 15 year career as an attorney and former prosecutor, you could hardly hope for a cleaner scenario. Period.

I was just talking to my friend about how too many black people have no concept of retirement planning and just expect their kids to take care of them. This mindset is killing our wealth progression. You start from zero because your parents are poor and couldn't give you anything. You struggle to figure things out yourself. Then as soon as your reach peak earnings years, you have the financial responsibility of caring for parents and all the other elders in the family, plus your own kids. Nine times out of ten, you don't have enough to set your own kids up with anything and the poverty cycle continues. It's too much.

My mom is bad with finances and had utilities in our names but my dad did get us life insurance and instilled buying a home and not renting. Please get life insurance on you, your mom and husband and do the best you can since she won't sign up for the benefits she's owed. If she lives with you you can sign up for someone those benefits for her.

We need to continue the conversation surrounding life insurance. This needs to be normalized in our community. I'm in my late 20s and my insurance policy is intact. If I die before my time, my family will be able to mourn me on an extended vacation and then some.

This case shows me how much misogyny in the community ( I wasn't expecting less) and blaming his son mistakes on Jay-Z. He was a felony with guns, which he shouldn't. He had security men and drivers let them separate girl. Being drunk and guns don't mix well.
