I'm surprised there wasn't plants growing everywhere in that poor old car , it has the perfect growing conditions dirt , moisture , sunlight ......and rust! lol Nice job guys! 👍😎
Always better to butt joint any welds, no matter how little you lap this will always be a trap for condensation to form, leading to the dreaded rust re-appearing sooner than you think.
We do try to but on metal like this you would end up blowing loads of holes. Seam sealer, zinc rust primer and primer protects the welds and metal very well as the panels we welded a year+ ago are fine
