I really enjoy watching your videos, you both seem so switched on to what you need to do, and in what order to create your beautiful home. You have chosen a beautiful region ! I enjoy seeing how you both work so hard, although I can see Anna is a real grafter from BG :)
Nice job around the windows. If you intend to stay long term, you may want like to consider planting a hedge along your boundary. You can start most hedging or trees from cuttings to save money, this is something that is best done very early on in your formative years when taking on a property so that you increasingly reap the amenity whilst living there. If you do sell you you then have clearly defined boundaries, greater amenity value and privacy, attributes that many buyers are looking for and willing to pay a premium for. If you do plant a hedge I would steer away from Leylandi unless you intend to trim regularly.
Nice job making good around the windows , the trick is to keep out any water and you're doing it well. It's always good to see you making such good progress!
Hey Paul, so sorry for a late reply. To be honest we don't think they could have made much less damage as some of the bricks etc seemed to kinda fall apart/fall out when they were removing the old windows. But if you can do it it should reduce the price. I would have done it if I had the skills but a year ago I was only just about putting up a curtain rail lol. Learning a lot over here.
@@nibbletouch7566 Cheers, I'm thinking of making a greenhouse out of the old windows, so I'll need to keep them intact. That will be a few months away though.
@@TheWritingNomad That's a great idea. Yeah I guess it depends on the contractor. Most likely noone will be as careful as yourself in that case. We hope to fit some of our old good ones in the barn at some point.
@@nibbletouch7566i'm an old git but my parents were from Ireland originally so I managed to get an Irish EU passport. I'm hoping to retire in bulgaria in the next couple of years. I envy the views you have, fabulous
@@eamonnbrereton1525 oh that's a great bit of fortune. At least you have a way around it. I am lucky that Anna is Bulgarian so that helps. I hear that Bulgaria plans to use the Euro in 2023. But who knows if it will happen or not. If they do though, the worry over here is that everything will become more expensive, Including houses, fyi. But it will surely still be dirt cheap compared to the UK.
