Ever wondered what "We Belong Together" would sound like in the Motown era? Now you can find out! This reimagined version brings back the classic sound
@@1496Jade Especially now with her more mature voice which would work really well with that genre of music. She could even revamp her image, go through a bit of a back to basics era just like Christina did in 2006 and who knows she might score her 20th number one! I hope Mariah reads these.
Now these lyrics sound right paired with real instrumentation. Those trap songs bring out the awfulness of todays lyrics. We gotta do better as artists.
It works, it sounds very nice but then I remember how beautiful and complex the 2021 version is and after that I remember how unbeatable the original version is. Its music, lyrics, vocals, its every ingredient for the perfect performance cake.
this makes me think about how mariah really was born at the perfect time. she made such legendary contributions to the landscape of pop music, but i feel like it was only possible because everything was set in place for her to do that. hip hop and rap rose to prominence and r&b was encroaching upon the pop scene, so she had all the materials to work with to spearhead the hip-pop movement of the 90s. if she had been born any time earlier, the public wouldn't have been ready for such a sound, or such a sound wouldn't have even been possible to create.
I don't think she would have the sound she has if she was born in another era. Singers are influenced by the music they hear and great ones combine it all and improve upon it. i.e. breathy singing and runs probably wouldn't have been her signature because pre Aretha a ton of runs wasn't all that big and breathy singing definitely wouldn't have been something to aspire for back then. Yet, by the time she did come along breathy had been done and she combined that into her sound and improved upon it. Tons of runs had been a thing so incorporated that etc. I believe if Mariah was around back then she'd would've been a vocal mix of Shirley Bassey and Mariah Callas. BUT THANK GOD she born when she did. Talk about divine timing.
I still think Mariah would’ve been a major standout had she been a singer around the time she was born. She wrote nearly all of her songs to fit perfectly for her 5 octave voice. To think, Mariah rarely has any tributes to her Bc her songs are difficult to sing.
@@bmac2310 as a vocalist and songwriter? for sure, 100%. but mariah is more than that; she was a pioneer and architect who shaped the music landscape, and i'm not sure she could have done that at that time.
@@venteanari she is far more than what I wrote true enough. I still say she would’ve stood out somehow even without the pop/rap mixes. Her voice is so unique that other singers with whistle register still can’t duplicate a lot of her song. If she pioneered thru the 90’s/00’s, she definitely would’ve done so during the 60’s & 70’s. To think, if she started back then her sales would’ve been on the scale of the Beatles and she’d be worth 3x’s as much(I believe).
I remember when this came out in the winter of 1961. My boyfriend had just broken up with me because his family found out that he was gay, even though both us were "dating" our best girls friends. I was at the bar drinking some whiskey and crying while Mariah Carey was at the stage singing this song that got my heart. Good thing is, 15 years after that, we found each other again, and were able to shared our lifes together. ❤
I went thru a bad breakup and used to go thru an entire bottle of Cristal Champagne every night during the summer of 1961 when this dropped -- and wow this brought back so many memories.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…. Do Fantasia singing Brandy’s “Begging and Pleading”… I promise you it will be a hit. I clearly hear it in my head…
I WISH, OH LORD IN HEAVEN HOW I WISH, SHE WOULD LISTEN TO THIS AND DECIDE TO MAKE A SIMPLE, HEARTFUL, CLASSIC TIMELESS ALBUM. NO HIGH NOTES, NO SCREAMING, JUST MUSIC TO THINK OF AN OLD SWEET LOST LOVE. DRIVING IN THE CAR ON A SAD VERY SAD SUMMER NIGHT. WINDOWS DOWN. MAYBE AN EP. 8 SONGS. LAST GOODBYE, GOLDEN MEMORIES.
Omg!!!! The remakes of all of these so gs make me feel like I was in that era. If that makes sense. I love this and I love the feeling of thinking O am sitting in a bar room😁 I love it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥💕💕💕💕
Wow Marah i have heard now three Motown songs and i must say there all sung so relaxed even the jazz version close my eyes 🎶💫 Wonderfull and who knows that we can expect a show for instance : A night with Mariah Carey singing her Motown favourites and that you maybe get a lot of television invitations for your new Venue offcourse and your Motown choices 🎶👉May that soon become a reality for all of us Fans 👈 And that America will embrace this new you and new sound to 🌟 big Kiss 💋 and best Regards Amora Freya 🍀🆗️
Mariah should have her voice copy written, legally be the first to get all profits from AI songs done… THEN she should put out a long digital album, go on digital tour and live forever as such and now I see that getting to be a huge thing. Instead of ghosting like JLO. Ppl will do AI. Guess there’s a down side to that too . Anyway LOVE THIS ❤❤❤❤ I’ll even give it a HIGH FIVE 🙏 Though everyone thinks it’s a prayer. To each. ❤❤
This is the type of music Solange Knowles makes and I love it I am in love with her style and I Am A Mariah Fan I have all her albums except Caution because I just stream it on apple music lol!
It's too bad she left the industry after this bop and its subsequent single, Shake It Off. Her last words to the public "this is too much, darlingg". She probably could've had lots of number one's.
