Sure does 😂. Two completely different vehicles. This is almost like a 4Runner, whereas the other is a truck, but man, that Cybertruck is hideous. It’s like a kindergartener designed it.
I own an R1T. You control music using the steering wheel buttons. You also toggle between efficiency and maps on the Driver's display using the steering wheel buttons. Of course, Driver plus and adaptive cruise is on the steering wheel. Helpful hint: put lane assist in the lowest setting on the information screen.
Same spec we ordered - thank you for the video! There are a lot of aftermarket solutions for some of your concerns - there is a lot of center console storage solutions that give you cup holders etc, and there is a pop in cover for the glass roof if you don’t want to tint it!
Just curious, do you live in the Bend Oregon area? Your area looks very central Oregon-ish. When are you going to try taking this off road? I have a new Gladiator Rubicon as well. 35s, Warn winch, steel OEM bumpers, LED fogs and head, bed cover, that’s about it so far. I just have a really difficult time believing Rivians or the Cybertruck will perform like a Jeep or Toyota off road.
You can look at your mileage on your dash monitor, just hold down the left side of your steering wheel button and it toggles through tires, miles/, map. You can also turn off lane assist in your settings and it does have Driver+ which automates your driving. It steers, and drives for you on mapped highways.
You forgot the storage compartment in the back (under the floor). I have ever had an issue with the the lane assist. I love having so much space.. and locked space !
Great video . FYI there is storage in the front bottom of each of the front seats. I believe that acts as the glove box now. I have kids. What are your thoughts on the third row and comfort.
The buttons that you say “do nothing while you’re driving” are used to adjust the speed for your cruise control and open the garage door once you program it and it get with its proximity of your garage. Also, while not a full glove box, there’s storage bins underneath both your front seats. Just reach between your legs and you’ll find them. Those are prefect for storing sunglasses. I seriously hope they don’t listen to you and clutter up the center screen with more info. That stuff on the right is there for a reason, you don’t need it that often (or at all really).
its not about cluttering up the center screen, its about being able to see what you want to see when you want to see it. some of us prefer to have our trip mileage in clear site vs on the far end of the screen. where as I dont need to make suspension adjustments at any given time, so why is that on the closest part of the screen.
I like the Rivian brand. They just got a new contract from AT&T for service vans hopefully that will push them over the top into profitability. Rivian deserves to succeed. !
Hey great video and even better looking car. I get my cocaine white Rivian in a week, can’t wait. One thing I’m not 100% sure about. The crossbars, I don’t think you can use all 3 to mount the same cargo. From what I gather the roof is not flat, there’s a little curve to it, therefore the crossbars are not on the same plane.
im not sure on that, ive seen some with 3 racks on them, but not being used. I cant imagine that they wont do 3 racks in line for weight distribution, but im not sure on that one.
I saw zero gaps, dents, smudges or paint defects in the main areas. typical paint defects were seen on the lower door trim pieces, but nothing regularly visible.
Might be a little too much reliance on tech. Makes more sense when amazon is buying fleets of them. For an individual person there will be times when you can't immediately get it repaired, but do need immediate use. Maybe I'm wrong, but my gut is telling me that any Rivian owner is a multiple car owner. You probably wouldn't want this to be the only car. You at least need a Jeep Wrangler or something else around, for when the Riv isn't fully operational.
thats why we got it, knowing that it was a new car that is bound to have issues whether its repair related or battery related, knowing that we have back up vehicles. I think electric in general would be difficult to put 100% reliability into as the sole family vehicle.
Been coming across a lot of Cartubers lately. Seems like a great hobby, if you ever win the lottery. Otherwise I don't know who can spend $100k to purchase something to review it. Maybe MrBeast.
the R1S are having less insurance issues for fender benders because they use multiple body panel pieces, its the R1T trucks that are having more issues because the entire 1 side of the vehicle is 1 panel, including the rocker panel. so it costs big $$ to cut and graft it all back together to replace. but my insurance is 3x more expensive for the rivian than our 95k yukon denali, which hurts $$.
@@aymanlockhartable I assume they'll fix some of this in the next iteration of the vehicle. But anecdotally my R1T was hit and run on the big back panel (deep 3x3 foot dent), they were able to fix for $3,500, which was way less than I expected. I was also scared by all the media stuff but luckily didn't seem to be true in my case.
Glad your doing a review, but you may need to watch other videos on the vehicle or read the manual and spend a little more time with it so you understand the features that you were explaining. You made a few errors as many people do. there are no speakers in the headrest, even though it looks like it, the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel do operate while driving they control your speed and distance when using driver plus and control curious. Good luck with it. Keep up the good work..
I absolutely learned that after I posted this video, im deaf in 1 ear and thought that the speakers were playing sounds, when it was the overhead speakers playing the higher tones too loud. and yes, I learned that it was for the cruise control, but I dont use cruise control, so why not map the buttons to be useful for other things if they arent labeled like all other cars on the market.
When all else fails, read the manual. You'd be surprised what you'll learn by doing that. For example: Index: Cup Holders Bam!! You have the answer. P.S. The manual is built in to your infotainment system. :)
cup holder dilemma was more of the drive home from the dealership and stopping for food and having a sudden freak out of not finding the cup holders while in the fast food line.
Looks hideous. Just because it's new and different it doesn't mean it's good looking. Get a real SUV like a BMW. If you can afford a Rivian you're not hurting on gas prices.
I”m coming from a BMW myself to the R1S. I can tell you it’s a lot of fun leaving my fellow Beemers in the dust with this thing. The Rivian is a lot more capable off road (and I do take it hunting fishing and mountain biking in remote areas). The practically of the additional storage space for where there’s normally a gas engine or a gas tank has made many a packed airport ride possible. Finally I can tell you I’ve had my BMW valeted quite a bit, but never have they commented how the “BMW is their dream car”, or asked if they can take their picture in it or parked it in the “VIP” area next to super cars….all of which happened with my R1S on separate occasions.
a bmw😂😂 yea suggest a shitty built german car that can’t off road, not as quick, not full of tech, and overall will tear your pockets up with maintenance amazing suggestion
