Always save all your content...never trust anyone. Especially a corporation. If you need help on how to do that safely I have an email address in my vid descriptions.
To find them panels your better off fixing them the best you can, parts are getting EXTREMELY hard took about 2-3 months to find a bracket that wasnt even for the correct year and had to fabricate it to make it work!
I know the lowrider is not your guys comfort zone. Hopefully u still decide to build it even with all the newer projects. It should bring views everyone loves a classic
We definitely are still building it! It’s just been on the back burner for a bit with our bread and butter truck show season starting up but we have interior being made currently and will be pulling the cab to work on the frame soon.
I don’t know why Americans get excited by cabovers. We have heaps of them in Australia and most guys prefer a bonnet. They are a pain in the ass to climb into with anything in your hands, you tilt the cab and every thing falls onto the dash and floor, and if 6ou hav3 an accident, there isn’t much protection in front of you and they ride rough.
well the guy i worked with had a older one it might slow down going up a hill maybe that 100,000 pound of steel slowed it down some it had a 600 in it! it pass the cars going up hills loaded!
Nice old rig. She been lengthening. You need check were it has been well frame added. Look at cuts welds and bolts. ,check all for cracks and missing bolts or make sure all bolts are tight. Should be a double frame were added. If not just welded don’t drive. Till frame is double were mounted together might not crack now but will with 20 thousand pounds on it
Hire me I have my class A non restricted and in manual I’m young and I work on projects and very creative just don’t have the equipment to show my skills 😊
I have an acquaintance who bought a new 6.0 Ford diesel F-250 in 2004. It has been nothing but a maintenance nightmare for the last 20 years including 10 grand for a new engine and transmission. You couldn't give me one of the damn things.
Hey Lacey, it’s Justin. I watch your channel I like and subscribe nice big rig. If I had the extra money I’d probably get one too but that thing looks like it’s something from Mad Max or something I like that you have that taste not my cuppa tea though I would probably get a normal shortframe with a living cab in the back you gotta have that cab in the back that you can live in that’s probably what I would do. Look forward to seeing new videos of that rig. Nice videos. Thank you for everything.😊
Boy those panels will probably be a bugger to find. The only 2 places you might find rust on that cab would be around the windshields and the panel above the cab supports in the back. Those if I remember correctly are the only 2 steel panels on the cab. The rest are aluminum panels. You might find them in a salvage yard somewhere tho. Might be able to straighten what’s there too. If memory serves correctly you would need huck bolting tools to remove and replace those panels. There used to a nice aftermarket cab air ride that worked really well for those trucks. Don’t know if they’re still available. Don’t know where you’re located I’m sure you can find a salvage yard that may have those pieces hard part will be getting them out and replaced. Good luck on your build
nice ole freightliner cabover , i've got a 1979 white western star cabover #4 of 620 off the assembly line she's a sweetie like yours she needs restoring
Green chassis with the black cab and flat black would look good I think also matching green stitching on the black interior. Love the channel looking forward to seeing this rig finished 👊🏼🤙🏼
Hey beautiful and so gorgeous Lacey another great video that cab over truck look good it will come in handy for truck show keep up the great work Lacey
Personally I think a 6.0L truck could be fun and reliable, but pull the engine a go through it, do some upgrades and don't over fuel it, cab over is really cool
Pretty sure they are all aluminium cab on them old freightliners not going to find much rust they will corrode though pretty sure that’s not the correct dash for the year wasn’t a lot of plastic in the early 80s trucks I drove an 81 cab over freightliner I like them cab over freight’sakers nice truck looks like there’s good bones there
