It was running when it crashed, more like it had just taken flight and came down with a bump! With the driver walking away from that it shows how far the safety of cars has come on!

80mph in to what a planet 🌎.. that was travelling well in access of I would say at least 120mph .. but .. what ever the speed that car was doing saved the guys life that day .. testament to the build quality.. every safety device worked perfectly.. and he walked away .. shows how far safety technology has advanced over the years

Take in attention crash tests are done at +- 35mph and the damage is massive as the new cars are made to dissipate the energy of the impact around the shell protecting the occupants, now having that in mind imagine if that impact in what looks like an not deformable barrier at 120mph, the steering wheel will be in the boot and the driver will be mash peas

Definite breaker, don't waste your time and the effort. And this is why you're doing so well, your honesty and transparency on so many things like the Cat B. 100% its a breaker and no one with half a brain and decency would waste their time repairing that.

Rob and Chris , you both really made me laugh on this one. Your sense of humour and good nature banter really is special. I agree repair would take up far too much time. I would say the gearbox and engine alone will make you a profit so a good buy.

I think Davanti tyres is very telling of the previous owner, apart from the massive crash obviously. Be worth a lot in parts that I'm sure. A bit of a shame as it's unrecorded, but clearly not worth your guys time to fix that. Well I'd say it's unfixable!

Wow, firstly so glad the owner walked away, says loads about modern car build. Whilst it would be a great project, the time factor, as you say, isn't worth it for a commercial concern. Better it goes to a BMW breakers where it can bring back to life a number of other BMWs, please let us know what you get for it out of interest. As you both say the engine may well be okay with just minor add on parts broken, plus all the other bits. Love the comment about other projects where pulling out a part makes it all pop back into place, I feel with this car however there would be a loud bang and you'd be left with a pile of a 1000 parts on the floor😂. As usual, thanks for sharing this video guys, it was a good and interesting insight into your work, shame you couldn't work your magic this time around, can't wait for the next one! 👍

As usual you guys made the right decision in the idea to re-shell it, after that impact the whole thing is bent. Other foreign channels would repair it. Personally i'd be happy to re-shell it with that profit. But there's alot of outlay before the big pay day, plus you need alot of space, it would take up the entire workshop.

The worst accident damaged car I ever came across in a "salvage yard" in Lochgelly Fife ,was a vauxhall calibra . Then a brand new model. I had no idea what the car was or even the maker initially untill we saw the engine cylinder head. It had left the road at over 100 mph , demolished a wall and hit a huge tree roof first , sadly the joy riding apprentice mechanic was eviscerated. His remains largely removed had left the black leather seats stained dark brown and his hair and scalp parts were still embedded in the crushed windscreen. The question was and is Is it ethically and morally right to remove any parts useable or not from such a tragic situation . And if you do , and due to invisible stress fatigue in another accident another person is seriously injured. Do you say to yourself well they knew it was a used part and not my problem mate . This side of the salvage industry has always stuck in my craw. So many make cash from the misery and loss of others .

Used to "shell" motors back in the day. Orions, Escorts, Cavaliers. Cavalier SRI shell cost £900 delivered, painted for £600, few bits and bobs, 1 week of work and bingo, cheap car. 😀

I used to get ex Stock bran new shells from the place in Cannock it's the place where they keep all the body shells for all the companies we where paying £300 for bare astra shells And Ford fiestas and pumas fully panelled for £600 from Ford and you can order them painted as well for about £400 more . It was Simpsons Salvage breakers yard poor job lot of them but we used to just go and fetch them from Cannock

Wow. My sons BMW 320d was written off a few years back after a guy swerved in front of him (both traveling in the same direction and T boned the other car on a freeway at 100kph. The damage was similar to this one. He and his daughter walked away from the crash as well. Good luck witrh the sale to wreckers. Keith.

Its scrap break it. You cannot rebuild that so that the original structural integrity is regained and the crumple zones perform as originally intended. Many years ago as an apprentice I remember watching a repaired Honda Civic being crash tested . It folded straight back ..horrific . Just the cost of the airbags, modules, trim etc would be prohibitive.

What a bargain. If you empty the petrol out for Chris's lawn mower and you know there will be a few pound coins in there somewhere 🤣 I'd bang that straight on ebay as a auction and I bet that will make £5k all day long. Engine and box is worth 4k. Nice little touch. Keep up the good work. Ahh yeah them diagnostic machines you have. They are great but don't keep it in a cold place as the touch screen will back up. 2 I've had a get screens changed. And it's always happened at the coldest time of year. 👍👍

If you could get into the ecu you could find out what speed this car was doing when it actually crashed they have a type of black box recorder in them.this is how police investigator's know the exact speed of impact.
